Hey everyone just after abit of advice on some wheels I’m looking at buying and what offset would be best to get?
Thought I would ask first as I know some of you know a lot about wheels and offsets and I have no idea really
First thing is that the wheels are 19x8.0 and I’m sure my wheels at the moment are 18x8.5, will this look smaller width ways or not??
I think I would like the ET32 as they will fill the arch better but want to make sure there is no rubbing at all! It’s for a b7 sline Quattro, these are the offsets they do them in, cheers guys!

your oem offset is et43 on an 18" 8j alloy, going up to 19" will just mean using a 35 profile tyre, the overall diameter will be the same.
If you are sure you are on 8.5j at present then going back to an 8j will be 12mm less or 6mm less poke depending on what offset you have now.

The safe bet on alloys with b7 is to go et35 on an 8j unless you want a bit more poke then go somewhere inbetween.
if you go with an 8.5j then you need to add in 6mm extra to the rim offset , so an 8.5j rim with an et35 will in fact have an effective offset (poke ) ET29 compared to the 8j ET35.
they are both the same offsets but you need to factor in the extra rim width , 6mm each side , so it will be 6mm more on the inner arch and 6mm more outside edge.

the problem with 8.5j and wider is that width can be an issue on the front with rubbing on the suspension upright when using higher offsets( more inboard offset) less poke as the tyre can rub and cause sidewall damage.

just don't go mad .

Sorry guys my mistake just had another look my wheels are 18x8j ET43 so take it the new ones will be the same on width, would you recommend going for the ET40 front and ET32 rear or ET40 all round?

ET 40 is going the wrong way chap, that's more inboard.
i'd go ET35 around to be safe.
maybe ET30 rear and 32 front but no more.

Oem is et43 , going et40 is 3 mm further inward so will look worse not better, the higher the number the further inwards they sit .

Looking at the option they list it would need to be et32 all round, if you want a bit more offset use some spacers to achieve your preferred stance etc.

You would not want anymore than et32 on the fronts anyway.
Et32 all round would be good.

Thanks guys so glad I done this post now god knows what I would have ended up with ha ha!
I will go for ET32 all round then if I need spacers for the rear I could get some.
Thanks so much defo be ordering a set of these in the next week or 2!

I don't think you need spacers to be honest, i'm on et31 front and it is spot on , well for me that is, rears are et27 or29, can remember now but its sub 30 and I wouldnt go any more now.
If you put 5mm on te back you be on et27 .
One word of caution , tyre width does play a part in wheel arch clearance and unless you have a small tyre stretch the 235/40 on a 8j rim may rub with anything more than et32.
just be carefull really.

good luck chap.

Cheers I will be getting the ET32 all round with 235 35 tyres on sounds like the best option

From that drop down menu it looks like your very limited on offset options not sure what pleb came up with them as options tbh but id also say the best out of them is defiantly et32.

I cant speak for other variants of the b7 but the 2.0 tfsi saloon fwd sits in more on the rear than the front so I'm on et35 Front and et30 Rear (8.5j wheel) if that's any help.

Off set on mine is 33 and that's on 18+8
19+9 with et 33 fit just nicely as well
