Looking for some help, I have a 2014 s3 and have been getting issues with my n/s headlight, the light has been flickering (not the DRL) and the full beam doesnt work when I select it on the stalk then I get a fault flash up on the dash, now I have replaced both front headlight bulbs and I'm still getting the same issue, tried some searching on google and in the forum and cant seem to find anything with the same problem as myself

Any help would be much appreciated

Only other bit is the ballast that can cause that. had similar problems in previous cars.

So a guy in my work has just checked to see if there is a feed going to the shutter for the full beam which it has, now when the headlights are off and you flick the stalk for the full beam you can hear the shutter activating and the full beam works but when you turn the headlights on it doesnt work

Difficult to diagnose without seeing.
I would check the simple stuff first like fuses, earths, broken cables etc before spending money on parts like ballast which isn’t cheap.

Think our wee auto electrician is going to have a look at it tomorrow, it's doing my head in

If you have one working side you could swap the ballast over to the other side and see if that works that will either help you rule it out or confirm that’s the issue.

Edit: not sure if the ballast needs coding or have component protection so be aware before you try.
