Sorry chaps but need to just let off some steam really , and yes it is coronavirus orientated.
Just recently when I've been out on essential shopping I've come across a new side effect to all the current concerns over virus infected persons etc.
Some people just seem to have lost the plot and become paranoid over anything even remotely like a cough , sneeze , fart of something.
I'm not saying one shouldn't be aware etc but common sense should be applied for god's sake.

I have been at the wrong end of this and i'm getting sick of it now.

I suffer from seasonal hayfever disorder which I've been afflicted with most of my life but I manage it , not really a summer grass allergy but tree pollen effects me very badly, from feb to may its not good frankly.

I get the occasional bout's of sneezing etc , red eyes etc even a slight cough with medication, I allways use a hanky so i'm not blowing snot everywhere.
Anyway , recently I've had a few sneeze's and a brief cough when going into a few shops , no where anyone and I've had a barrage of comments , most of them totally uncalled for and some just people glaring , I wont spell them out.
People really need to get a grip of themselves and engage brain before making comments that are totally uncalled for and unwarranted.
If I get anymore i'm just going to loose my temper with them and , well I wont be user friendly to be honest.

I'm going to get a sign stuck to the back of my jackets saying " I SUFFER FROM SEASONAL HAYFEVER , NOT COVID 19 , IF I SNEEZE YOU WON'T DIE "

Sorry to rant chaps but being on the receiving end of this sort of thing is not nice frankly , yes everyones afraid and has concern's about being infected with this virus but stop the unwarranted madness , please.

rant over chaps.

rob , ooops I've sneezed again ….

It doesn't justify unwarranted verbal abuse full stop, some people just need to engage brain first before spouting off .

Most aren't so self conscious in shops; cough, sneeze, fart and laugh if people don't laugh with you so be it, didn't think this would need explaining to someone older.

hey Rob i totally understand....the world goes into a pandemic and what do people do?? they HOARD toilet paper and eggs!!

So when did they start rolling out free test kits...?????
it's a bit ambiguous of you too assume your not carrying the virus even if you had been tested .!
I suffer with hayfever myself & wouldn't dare to make such a brash statement ... I find your rant offensive ,

Clearly you were not there at the time, I found the verbal abuse very offensive frankly and it was uncalled for, if you find my rant offensive that's down to you really but you should put yourself in the same situation, would you appreciate the verbal abuse.

I would never act in the way these people did, and as I said before some people need to get a grip of themselves and how they behave, we all have enough to deal with as it is without this sort of behaviour.

But then i'm only human whereas some others appear to be perfect.

And lets just get this straight right now.
Verbal abuse in this instance is only a very short step away from spitting at people and other aggressive behaviour , it is uncalled for an there is no excuse for it full stop.
For all you lot that seem to find this rant offensive or trivial, it is neither .

The same people that gave you sh1t are probably the same idiots that feel so entitled that they still jumped on a plane and went on holiday in February when anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together would have realised that it wasn't a good idea! Yeah like you say be careful but don't have knee jerk reactions to the slightest thing!

Oh look, something released today on the very subject matter.

"As pollen levels pick up in the UK, some people could start finding it difficult to tell whether they are suffering from hay fever or coronavirus.

They may be concerned they have an overlap in symptoms, and GPs have offered advice on how to distinguish between the two.

The chair of the Royal College of GPs, Professor Martin Marshall, said: "We would normally expect to see a number of patients at this time of year suffering with symptoms of allergic rhinitis, more commonly known as hay fever - an allergic reaction to various types of pollen.

"Typically, patients suffering with hay fever will experience symptoms such as a runny or blocked nose, sneezing, sore and watering eyes - but also sometimes a cough.

"Some of these presenting problems, especially a cough, can also be symptoms of COVID-19."

The main symptoms of coronavirus are a new, persistent dry cough and a fever, and it can develop into respiratory problems.

Sufferers are advised to self-isolate for 14 days if they, or anyone else in their household, begins to show symptoms.

However, Professor Marshall said there were some key differences when it came to telling the two illnesses apart.

"Allergy symptoms tend to be milder and fluctuate depending on the time of day as pollen levels are often higher in the afternoon and evening," he explained.

"Similarly, wet weather may lead to patients experiencing milder symptoms.

"Patients who regularly suffer from hay fever will be familiar with the symptoms they usually get and the severity of them.

"In instances where a patient experiences a significant deviation from this, or have specific symptoms of COVID-19 - a new, persistent cough and a high temperature - we urge them to follow government advice and self-isolate."

Guidance for allergy sufferers on the website of charity Allergy UK says: "Coronavirus symptoms typically include a continuous cough and a temperature as well as sometimes causing headaches and muscle aches. These are not symptoms of hay fever.

"Hay fever symptoms are persistent and relatively predictable depending on the pollen count.

"Symptoms of runny, itchy nose and sneezing which are typical of hayfever are not typical of coronavirus.

:: Listen to Coronavirus: In This Together on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Spreaker

"Hay fever should respond to antihistamines and, if you have been prescribed them, nasal sprays.

"We would recommend that you treat hay fever proactively to minimise your symptoms, reducing the tendency for you to touch your face due to itch, and prevent unintentional spread of coronavirus by sneezing."

Grass and tree pollen are the most common causes when it comes to hay fever, with the season typically lasting from May until September."

Just commented on another bit of juicy goss as I cant sleep and I've branched out of the b7 section enjoying the different scenery and all that, anyway my opinion...

I'm the same Rob I suffer with hay fever have done for the last 5 years, constant runny nose, sneezing, red itchy eyes ect, fortunately I haven't come across anyone being abusive as I'm always having a sneezing fit as well so I'm waiting for the day it happens, so I completely sympathise with you knowing how crap it is especially when tablets don't do anything! and your out getting essentials trying your best not to catch the virus like everyone else and doing your part for the country but at the same time dealing with wanting to rip your eyes out and having people give you dirty looks for it or say something inappropriate without remembering the worlds still turning and peoples allergies haven't just decided to stop because of coronavirus so I understand why you would get annoyed id be the same, but that's the uk for you the country's full of ******* snowflakes that have a meltdown when anything's out of the norm.

It always amuses me how those who accuse others of being snowflakes come across as ones themselves
