Hi folks, having a little bit of an issue with my haldex/rear differential, it's had new oil and filter for haldex done before I bought it, however, the 4wd wasn't working, I narrowed it down to two worn inner CV joints at back, now 4wd works but when turning corners I get a horrible creeking and grinding noise from the back, also my mpg has dropped a fair bit, I disconnected the haldex from the multiplug under the rear seat bench and now the noise is away and the back wheels are no longer dragging or creeking/grinding.

The module was reconditioned prior to me getting the car, any advice is it a new differential required? a pump?

Any help appreciated thank you.

What fault codes have you got, preferably with VCDS ?

I don't have VCDS software I do have a cable mind you, the 4WD system works fine with no fault codes, it's just noisy when turning it's grinding and creeking when cornering especially at lower speeds, but I disconnected the haldex and the noise disappeared

Sounds like the rear diff to me as by disconnecting the haldex I would imagine the diff isn’t moving as such so the back wheels are now just free rolling.
If it is the pump or the haldex control unit then the 4wd wouldn’t work and you would have an error code when the haldex is connected.

Cool mate thank you, that was my suspicion that it would be diff related, just wasn't 100%
