Was just talking to Rick last week about my B9, gonna wait another month so I can pickup an intercooler and downpipe first, saves 2 long trips down to him!

How does it feel now? As stock I feel the power just falls on its face at 4000rpm then picks back up at 5000rpm, it's the weirdest feeling!

How is the gearbox taking it, any unusual shifts etc? Do t suppose you have a Dragy unit?

I did have a chat with him re the inter cooler as stock is simply not man enough - something to consider in month or so.

The car is a serious beast now, has the appearance to be an A4 until up close and personal.

The power gain is very noticeable, even at low revs. It's smooth if you want it to be and effortless to power away when you need it to.

I'm still getting used to the response tbh and the gearbox seems fine, although it's so easy to hit 70 / 90 I find myself backing off mid gear point (I am sure the power unit lets out a huge sigh as it just wants to carry on pulling)

Fuel consumption is also good, maybe slightly better than before but difficult to measure.

I don't have a dragy, not sure you really need to verify how quick this is because it's very quick !!

So today the S4 had a treat :
1) I Flushed the brake fluid
2) installed new ebc yellow stuff rear pads and did it successfully without a computer to unwind the electronic parking brake ( whoop )
3) swapped winters wheels for summers and cleaned and waxed the winters for storage
4) changed the oil & filter
5) swapped out 6 old spark plugs for some lovely fresh ones ! Wow how tight were the old ones .... I was scared!
All that and I still have some skin on my knuckles!!!! All in all a good 40k service !

Haven't driven mine since I went into self isolation over two weeks ago, and nobody else should be driving theirs unless they are permitted too. Still washing the cars though as both of ours are kept outside, did this on friday and by Saturday they were covered in dust and wind blown debris...

done a map update last night thanks to @cuke2u instructions when to turn the car on to do the battery was low never had this before, mind you never had to do social distancing before so took it out of the garage and left the car on while it updated

Edit: amended changed from self isolation to social distancing

At the risk of being called a pedant,
I take it you two don’t have Coronavirus ? Given that you’re working on the cars etc... I’d suggest that you’re just social distancing and
not in self isolation????

It feels like isolation, can't go any further than the boundaries of my home but I can still wash my car on our driveway. I am at risk because of my health conditions so the correct description is cocooning, which is just as bad as isolation:
"For people most at risk, we are giving special advice called cocooning.
Cocooning is for people who are extremely medically vulnerable.
It means you should stay at home at all times and avoid face-to-face contact. Even within your home, you should minimise all non-essential contact with other members of your household."

Currently my only contact with the outside world is the remote assistance I am providing to members of staff at the schools I work for and teams video conferences, usually twice daily...

I moved my car from one side of the road to the other as a space freed up in front of my house. Then I changed the audi rings at the back from black to silver. I think silver look better on my car.

What colour is your then...... I'll take your black rings if they are going spare :)

Looked at mine out of the window again. Just for a change.

I actually took it for a spin today to drop off a prescription to a patient. Roads in London seem to be as busy as they used to be before lockdown. Went really slowly so I can listen to LBC radio as long as possible

I've got daytona grey and black rings should look quite good on it however I think the silver makes the back end look better. I took off all the other badges and left just the rings.
I don't think you will want the rings I took off. You will need to clean off remnants of the glue which is not easy and then cut new double sided tape. It's easier and cheaper to pay £8 for new ones of ebay.

Removed wheel spacers and adjusted the MSS springs so the wheels sat in the arches more. Ride quality still felt really good on my 5 mile trip to grab some food bits. The MSS springs are in a different league to the eibach pro springs that I had on there before. Although they are £400 more.

Well its arriving tomorrow the only is the only way I can connect it is through the lounge window. Not sure, under the current conditions whether I can get an electrician out to fit a external socket...

So the charger has arrived, now I have ordered a weatherproof socket, pond cable, rcd socket and a 13amp plug. I plan to run this from the conservatory to a convenient location nearer to the car...

I replaced them with genuine Audi ones 8W9052100A got a brand new set for £200 off eBay.

Tinted rear lights added.
Looks good
It reminds me, has anyone tired tinting the reflectors in the rear bumper?
I'm thinking they would look good matching rear lights and blend better into the black insert panel that links them

Finally someone fitted the MSS springs to a B9!

What are they like then, worth the money? Drop looks decent, was that maxed out?

More importantly how is the ride? I'd be fitting them solely to improve the ride quality of my non adaptive S4!

Dying for someone's experience on them before shelling out the £700 on them!

Yeah well worth the money in my opinion. I had the eibach pro kit on before and I found the ride too stiff and harsh. since I took the wheel spacers off and adjusted the ride height the comfort has got even better. Not sure if it’s the spacers not being on or the pre load of the spring(as you lower the car the spring lengthens and there is less stiffness), but the ride is much better. I do 120 miles a day traveling to work on the same roads and the MSS kit Is definitely the best ride I’ve had over the 15 years traveling to work. As it sits in the photo it still has another 10mm it can drop. I’ve got 20” wheels coming next week so I’ll probably need to raise it slightly. I had the kit fitted by MSS as I only live 5 mins from there R & D facility. Ride quality is subjective, but I’m more than happy with how the car rides now and the majority of reviews you see are all positive. Loads of videos on YouTube on The MSS ride quality.

Having quite a bit of time on my hands over the last few days I decided to properly detail my B9.
Started with a thorough wash with Valet Pro PH Neutral Snow Foam, then Sonax shampoo. De-contaminated the paint & wheels with Autoglym Magma. De tarred with Valet Pro Citrus Tar remover. Then a quick clay bar. Not usually a fan as it's possible to scratch the finish. Then cut & polished with Scholl S20 Black with a green DA pad. Buffed off. Sealed with Finish Kare Hi Temp Paste BWM 101 (used to be FP1000) black DA pad. To finish, two coats of Finish Kare 2685 Pink Wax black DA pad.
Wheels off. Cilit Bang followed by snowfoam for the arches & a quick scrub. Rims treated with GTechniq C5 Wheel Armour, left 24hours to cure then a coat of Finish Kare BWM 101. Dull callipers given a couple of coats of E-Tech high temperature paint. Disc edges & centres painted black with Halfords High Temperature paint. Finally a quick tyre slick (unbranded) which doesn't fling.
I'm really happy with the results. Just need to mint the interior now.........

I trust you shared your results over in the detailing section of AS...

20” wheels and some new tyres put on for summer. Also 5mm ride height adjust as it was rubbing on the front on some corners on my way to the supermarket. Test it again next time I go out.

One of my favourite combos.

Ordered me some of this yesterday, should keep me going for a while :)
View attachment 201672
Eventually this order arrived today after a misfire. I was informed it was going to be delivered last Friday but received a text late that night to say it had been delivered at 22:59 and signed by 'disposed of' lol. To give them their due the supplier despatched another order yesterday and now I have it...

I wanted to have the centre lip on the bumper made brushed silver colour. I looked online for some overlays but everything I found was carbon fibre. I checked with couple local wrapping places but they did not stock brushed aluminium wrap. So I decided to get some wrap of ebay and do it myself. Considering how relatively straight the lower centre lip is, it was quite challenging probably not helped by the cheap vinyl. It gets so soft with slightest heat and was very difficult to work with. We will have to wait and see if it doesn't come off on hot sunny days. Please let me know you have come across a brushes aluminium overlay as that would probably be a better option.

Here is a picture of how it turned out

Bought some new wheels.... Current tyres are just under 4mm so will be ordering new tyres before fitting... Eager!

painted my exhaust tips with plasi-dip, and found a LOT of mud and debris caught up near exhaust!
and painted my calipers blue to match the car!

New wheels on... not 100% convinced by them. Maybe it’s the grey blending too much with the car

They look ok, but would have looked much better in a bigger size to fill them arches up.
