How is the LED cup holder ring connected?

I’d like to retrofit the LED cup holder ring. Most retrofitters just wire it to the cigarette lighter light, but in reality I’m pretty sure Audi has it connected to the BCM so it can be controlled by the ambient lighting menu?

Does anyone know where exactly, what pin? Searched around and couldn’t find.

J519 46 pin connector #2 if xenon, 73 pin connector #3 if halogen.

Number of pins in the connector.

Thank you!

Do you know anything about the door ambient light and speaker light and door handle?

Also, where did you get this information?

Those go to the door module and need to be enable by coding. Elsawin diagrams.. Too lazy to convert the PDF to jpg to post...

I have my cupholder light connected to pin 2 of 46 pin connector, but couldn't find the coding to control the brightness through MMI, so I'm currently using a workaround. Do you have the info on that coding? I've been looking for it, but no success.

Different coding for FL and PFL... On FL, you need to enable the centerconsole ambient lighting on 09, then the ambient lighting menu on 5F through adaptation.

If I already have footwell lights enabled including the MMI menu, do I just need to enable cup holder through 09 long coding?

This is what I have, might be additional coding, but try it...

09 Adaptation:

Interior light, light configuration:
Ambiente Lautsprecher:
installed <---- Speaker ambient
Mittelkonsolenbeleuchtung:
installed <---- Middle console ambient

Thanks, I know that topic (I suggested it to Fraysa a few days ago). Unfortunatelly it only contains coding for the footwell and door lights, but not for the cupholder.
The channel for the pin 2 of BCM connector B is " ENG116945-ENG116043-Leuchte9FL RB2" which is assigned by default to "ambient light 2", but it doesn't light up with that configuration. As a workaround I've assigned it to "Standlicht allgemein" so it lights up when position lights are on, along with dashboard and console lights, but I have no control on the brightness. But I'm still looking fot the coding to enable it to be controlled by the MMI as it's supposed to work in cars with OEM lighting package.

I suppose someone who has bought the K-Electronic retrofit kit for cup holder lights might have the instructions on coding. Tha cable shown in the pictures for that kit seems to have terminals for different cars (hallogen, xenon), including the 2.8 mm MCP used to fit in the slot 2 of BCM B 46 pin connector. Anyone?

Can anyone confirm the pinouts or provide a wire diagram for a 2017 or similar model? I’ve confirmed that my car already has a white wire with gray stripe occupying pin 2 of connector T46b. And my T73c connector does not have anything in pin 3 but does already have something in pin 62. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I forgot to add that pin 3 is a much larger size than what I have on the harness for my cup holder light. So I didn’t complete the install. That and since I have 2017 I have LED headlamps not halogen. Maybe the pinout changed in 2017

Cars with LED headlights use T46b Pin 20 for the cup holder light.

I don’t suppose you have the coding for this. I connected to pin 20 and the other to ground but it’s not working. I tested the light prior to install and it lit up.

If you PM me an admap of 09 I’ll take a look. I only have PFL tho so not sure if it’s gonna be the same for you. Do you already have the MMI menu activated?

Hi there I'm new on the forum.

I have a golf 7 facelift. I want to install an ambient light ledbar on the dashboard. It is not OEM, but in the end it looks very genuine. Now you can connect it to the BCM and code it. Because technically the A3 8V is practically the same as a golf 7 you must code and install it the same as the cup holder in the A3, after that you can even control it through the MMI for brightness etc.
Already many people succeeded this retrofit working fully, but all I could find was concerning the pre-facelift. There I have a facelift, those DIY's won't work for me. Now I see you have a facelift a3 also, maybe you could help me out. I would be very thankful.

Already great thanks!

Chris

(If anyone else has any advice let me know, thanks)
