Fitted the fmic today with the help of my daughter, she’s also helped me do the oil cooler, 4-1 manifold sports cat and full service on mums car not long ago so shes well on her way to being handy with the spanners :)

I used to have one of those, she used to love being my spannering assistant, now too concerned about her nails to help.

She has no specific interest in anything tbh but today she was saying she loves cars and fixing them shes aways been around modified cars and bikes so im not sure if its that or her being with me but she seems really interested bless her and a good trait fixing your own car so ill definitely be getting her involved in future jobs :icon thumright:

I see your PAS cooler is up front, the instructions I got was to mount it on the bottom. Did you get different instructions or did you freestyle it?

So how does it work then chaps?
Does the tailgate just spring up uncontrolled or at a controlled rate , what about closing.
I cant find any thing in the B7 options or acc listings that suggests it an option on avants full stop.

I'll send ya some what's app vids tomorrow Rob.
When it opens it's nice and smooth even using the release button inside it's the same. Have to close it manually though.

I just followed the instructions the cooler is under the intercooler they have a mounting point for it built into the intercooler itself.

Sorry this might be a silly question, but what about the bumper hight adjusters?

Now I see it chap, yours is a saloon and the way the boot lid opens is different to the avant , so it is just a release catch setup with leverage creating the lift.
That was a factory option for saloons.
That wouldn't work on an avant the same as the hinges are at the top of a much larger tailgate , there is also no means of slowing down the tailgate when it reaches the stop point or the limit of the strut travel, I can see the struts and mounts taking a real hammering after a while.

nice touch though Glen.

Are you changing the tips Tom, it would make all the difference with something nicer.

possibly, not sure what would fit the s line valance, have literally no idea about tips sizes,or factory options. my goal is a slightly louder better sound as the current standard exhaust is not bad in terms of air flow restriction, as some other factory cars, but sounds like a damn dyson hoover
any hint on what tips I could fit there Rob?

my previous set were 90mm slash cut stainless steel tips, went on easy and looked great.

They look stunning, just out of curiosity, how were they attached? welded, or clipped on etc.. I know its a silly questing since i just had the exhaust right under my nose today but haven't noticed how are the tips attached.
after seeing your pics I might just add another thingy on the never ending to do list, and go search for some tips.

I welded mine on, but they can be clamped on if required .
The original tips will need cutting off and leave enough pipe to affix the replacements.

Mine are 4” but a slightly different style as the exhaust tips have an outer edge so they have an illusion of slightly smaller but i really like the style so I've stuck with them but personally i think the 3.5” is a tad to small maybe a more oem+ look and anything north of 4.5” looks like it belongs on a max power magazine from 20 years ago.

so the exhaust has been welded together today, test fitted and test drove. might as well stick with it.

Nice, I do like the Ronal's just a shame they never came in a 19" format and if they did i'd have a set straight away.
I slipped up selling mine , but hey, i'm allways letting kit go and then regretting it..lol

Question though, why another set.
