What Car Care / Detailing Have You Done Today ?

My 9yr old daughter now into detailing.
She spent 3 hours today hovering, snow foaming, more snow foaming, little more snow foaming her mums car then finished off hand polishing it.

And shes still not tired enough to go to bed! Lol

I'll get some pics up tomorrow, forgot to take some today.

Purchased some diamond cut 18” monza wheels, got a hell of a deal. All OEM, in great condition however they needed a polish so I spent most of yesterday polishing each wheel by hand... relatively happy with the outcome, may need to be further refined though.

Very nice have always like the diamond cut version of these alloys and you can use the da on them far easier and quicker

They look great, bet that took some time to do by hand. Bet you feel very rewarded.

They're hard to find in good condition without costing a fortune. I considered using the DA but I thought it might be more hassle than it's worth, I may give that a go today.

Cheers pal, certainly an upgrade on the 17's. I'll definitely get some shots when they're on, unfortunately that'll have to wait a few weeks due to the epidemic.

You all done some great work on here recently.

How good is 'detailing' going to be, to pass your free time in isolation.

Making me envious of all this free time you got. lol

First day off today.
Summer job brought forward.

Wheels off, fully cleaned and waxed up.
Hubs, dust guards and calipers cleaned, fresh painted.

Good job done and in one tyre found 3 screws, fortunately they hadn't gone through.

Thanks @OCDaveS4 just wanted subtle changes. But that make a difference.
White and black theme
Was really unsure about the gloss black alloys with diamond cut face. But so pleased with them.

like most of us I've inherited a lot of free time lately so I finally got round to machine polishing the car and washing it.

Products I used was Roar 610 extreme cutting compound on a green 3m mop head then I used Indasa's Autogloss high gloss plus with a black 3m waffle head.

Not waxed it yet as I ran out of time but I'm more pleased with the results so far.

Car hasn't been driven in 3 weeks. Gave it a clean the other week in prep for it being wrapped (then lockdown happened) so gave a pretty quick clean, snow foam, wash of door jambs, chemical decon and looks much better for it.

Plan to give the engine bay some TLC over the next few weeks and wheel arches when I decide to put the summer wheels back on!

No after pics but can see much better in the second pic, showing tar remover. Very impressed with AF tar remover - first time using it.

BH korrosol used for iron fallout remover, performance of this product speaks for itself!

All tar removers are what they say they are....none are any better than the other, but Korrosol is a fantastic product that will strip all contaminants/products off in the right weather conditions...ie Do not use in direct sun light....same as any wheel cleaner....So what colour is the wrap going to be?....and how does one go about Washing/detailing a car that's been wrapped....?just found out today you can buy a gtechniq ceramic coating for cars that have been wrapped called HALO

Fair point, have used another brand and didn't seem to work as effectively, but take your point! Yeah Korrosol is the mutts nuts to be fair.

It's going a satin metallic orange, gotta wait till after lockdown for it now. Was getting bored of a white car, cheaper to wrap then sell and go for a new car. Had it 13 months now, so 1 month longer than the S3 so a new record lol.

Didn't lose anything on the S3 swap to the S5 was virtually like for like so can't complain.

Was looking at an F type or RS5, but gonna hold off till end of S5 deal and see what the car situation is like.

Not today but over the week I finally finished.
Decided to take my time, do it properly.
Summer wheels clayed with bilt hamber, 2 coats of colinite (24 hours apart) and left to cure in the spare bedroom last week.
Hoovered and cleaned the interior and boot.
Brake callipers rubbed down, repainted and fresh brembo decals applied, also hub areas.
Fixed the boot floor latch while on.
Cleaned and conditioned the ivory leather with liquid leather cleaner and conditioner.
Red hot fairy liquid wash to detox the paint. ( I know but it works right)
Bilt hamber clayed the full exterior, panels, lights, glass and exhaust tips.
Menzerma 2 (200) on white pad
Menzerma 3 (800) on yellow pad
Collinite 845 on all panels, glass except windscreen and exhaust tips with black sponge hex pad.
Refitted summer wheels.
Only took 1 photo though lol.

Deep cleaned the interior, tried to get the factory matte look back on the seats which I have to say have come up well using some valet pro leather soap and a lot of scrubbing with a leather brush. Took ages but well worth it.
