What have you done to your Audi A4 B7 today?

I havent even polished or waxed it yet! :tearsofjoy: Will be getting super resin though and some Meguiars wax I've got lying in the shed. Probably do it next week when work calms down a bit.

Blimey, she's super shiny already. Is that just the wet look then?
I really need to make more of an effort with mine.

But on a plus point made a nice little purchase today so another part of the master plan .

That was after I dried it mate. It has got a good shine on it to be fair although has a lot of swirls. I think I'll give it a hand polish and wax. Then later in the summer give it a machine.

Looking good Ricky!
Now all you need to do is de-chrome the window trim :sunglasses:
If we're all in lockdown till September you should have plenty of time :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Thanks Sam, I'm really happy with the wheels and there holding up really well quality wise so id defiantly recommend them, it was such a hard choice between the matt black and gold and still if I had the choice again today I'm not sure which colour id go...

Is the bi xenon's plug and play? I've always used xenon bulbs in my cars if they haven't come factory as I like the white bulb look but like the windows that have only just been tinted which is something I normally do straight away the headlights have just escaped me and I've just got used to them I really do need to do them though, always gives the impression of a younger car with night and day difference in brightness.

That had you all thinking.:haha:
Over the last few days there have been several rather naughty small feathered friends sitting on my door mirrors and leaving little messages on the door below, what are they like.
They seemed to be attracted to the glass or something, so wrapped them up and bingo, no more naughtyness.

I won't try driving with them like that ….that would be just bonkers

Rob's car is so shiny... the birds are loving it

Upgraded the boot struts & springs and discovered that my avant actually does have auto-open boot so long as you hold the button down.
(whoever specced my car from the factory was a little stingy on extras, leading me to think mine is basic - so this was a total surprise).
Also... a large package arrived (easy ladies - mines' tiny in the cold weather) and is being prepped for painting as we speak.
Oh and all calipers are now yellow.
Two questions;
- has anyone swapped their roof/head liner?
- does anyone have any experience with RDX Vario splitters/known issues to watch out for

Unlocks and lifts open (I've convinced my 5yr old the car is magic, still working on the missus)

See...magic. And that's nice to know Rob, I'd love to meet who specced my car. I don't even have mpg readout on the on-board comp, but I've got auto boot opening!?!

I knew it was an option on the saloon variant but never seen it offered on the Avant, must be a special order or something then, maybe worth looking into weather the saloon setup can be retro fitted to avants.

I'm surprised at mine too. It's an ex-demonstrator, I thought they'd have raided the options bin. But no, I don't even have leather, as yet.

How much of a pig-of-a-job is it Edgar on the unpleasant job scale to remove the roof liner?
I have a sedan so it kind of sucks having to take in and out through the trunk but beyond that it's just finding all the right screws everywhere.

So how does it work then chaps?
Does the tailgate just spring up uncontrolled or at a controlled rate , what about closing.
I cant find any thing in the B7 options or acc listings that suggests it an option on avants full stop.

I have done this mod to mine.
https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/how-to-b7-avant-auto-boot-opening.240812/

Once they have bedded In they are a smooth open and then you manual have to shut the boot. It is just ideal when you are coming back to the car with you hands full

Thanks for the reply chap, I did see that a while back and it is very good .
I did have concerns that over a period of time ,the constant force on the struts and mounting points that damage would occur so never went any further.
I assumed from the above replies their boot tailgate release/lift was a factory fit but cant find anything on that specific option or fitment for the B7 avant.

Fitted the fmic today with the help of my daughter, she’s also helped me do the oil cooler, 4-1 manifold sports cat and full service on mums car not long ago so shes well on her way to being handy with the spanners :)
