Who's attacking your posts?

TBF, you're pretty harsh with your words toward other members posts. Differences of opinions are good, and make the forum. If we all agreed with each other all the time, it'd be pretty boring.

Only ever friendly banter from me Jassy, attack my Mazda again and that Peugeot blue S3 is getting it ;-)

On the whole I’d say this forum is really good, welcoming, full of knowledge.

I follow a rugby club forum, that is toxic.

Nowhere near as funny as you Sara...wink....you know nothing about my car or its financing ...

All I know is you said your car had been valued at £2910 and I thought it would be worth more and you said it was on audi financing.

My idiot other half just told me he has been emailing back and forth with Stratstones about swapping his a35 for a c43 coupe today! I'm annoyed that they are open and even more annoyed he's thinking of a car at this time. Stupid man. The part ex price they've offered is the same as before corona. I threw a fit so I think it's on the backburner now
Correct me if I'm wrong, surely you already have a C43 so why would you get two of the same car (albeit one is a coupe and one is an estate?)

I think the current 911 is just about motoring perfection. I wish I could afford one.

As its currently out of my price band, a 718 Cayman is next on my list. I have always wanted a Porsche but until recently a 2 seater wasn't an option for me.

As for it being considered pretentious, I don't agree. And it wouldn't really bother me what other people thought anyway, Porsches are undeniably fantastic cars.

I actually think Audi's are more pretentious nowadays, plenty of folks walking around with their nose in the air whilst driving a basic A4 or A1, thinking they are someone because the car has an Audi badge on it.

Would you not be even a little disappointed with a 4 cylinder Porsche, especially considering the cost, plus the driving characteristics (ie turbocharged rather than naturally aspirated) and sound are not a scratch on the old 6 cylinder. I have to say styling wise the 718 cayman is a vast improvement though.

You're not the only one pal, I've been following the A3/S3 release very closely. Very excited for more info on the S3. My GTI has only made me want an S3 more, so naturally the new A3/S3 launch is getting the juices flowing.

Hey mate ... reality check !

I’ve had Audi’s for the last 12 years & been on ASN since 2013. Just because I’ve bought a Merc doesn’t mean I’ve lost interest in Audi or the A3.

I may certainly consider another Audi 100% & I am very interested to see how the S3 & RS3 progress so I do have a genuine interest in this thread as do others I’m sure.

The only thing I’m guilty of is trying to convince you of the merits of my new car, which yes I have given up on now as you were not open to listen with any rationale.

But when you hit you hit hard mate ... so you must be prepared to take a few blows back pal ... you’ve said to me before ‘water off a ducks back’

We have a lot of long term ASN members migrating to different brands for different reasons but I think we all appreciate ASN for the great members & discussion on here.

No one is having a go at you - but if that does concern you, just tone down the jipes you regularly give to others lol

So can we all agree to get on please as is the norm here at ASN :icon thumright:

They are making the 6 cyl 4.0L again, I am 18 months to 2 years from changing so plenty of time to source the right one.

Yeah, I recall seeing they're bringing back the 6cyl, isn't it only going to be available in the pricey GT4 Cayman?

The new RS3 is a possibility, but not the S3. My only issue with the 8V S3 was that it was too subtle looking, and I suspect the new model will be the same.

I am looking for something more aggressive looking.

A new RS3 is out of my comfort zone only because of the higher running costs involved my car aint any driveway queen as l do 10k miles a year...besides l have more expensive hobby's but l get what you mean with the sedate styling of the S-line/S3 the S-Line and a S3 should be widened/differentiated but that aint gonna happen as German car maker apply the same rules to cut costs...but the new RS3..will be far more aggressive looking than the models before and it will have more power than any other of it's rivals when it makes an appearance...Engine power output willy wagging.... shall we say, maybe we should have let them win WW2....lol

My car is no garage queen either, I do at least 13k a year. Nothing I enjoy more than a driving holiday, taking the car to Scotland for a week is one of our favourite things to do.

Fortunately I bought my house when I was 23, so these days cars and holidays is where my money goes. Current circumstances make it really clear that you just don’t know what is around the corner, so I will be enjoying my cars and holidays even more when the situation allows for it again.

I suppose if you live there, it may be different.

But for me, I have been all over the world and north west Scotland is one of my favourite places, only beaten by California and Florida.

The TCR certainly gets some nice comments from people when I'm out and about, the pure grey and gloss black really suit it and make it stand out from a "normal" GTI.

Yosemite is just amazing, one of those places that just takes your breath away. It almost doesn't seem real at some points.

Myself and some friends were booked to go to California in June for a road trip in some muscle cars ending in Vegas for some partying, totally gutted as that is now unlikely to go ahead, we have been planning it for a year.

I’m pretty sure our USA trip is off the cards in May ... hopefully Tenerife will still happen late summer.

from 2020 they came standard with the Akrapovic, mine is late 2019 so didn’t have it. The TCR always had a specific exhaust anyway, it actually sounds very nice, deep sound with some crackles and pops on the overrun.

Nice review here by Auto Express. It doesn’t solve everyone’s interior quality and design worries though! In fact, it’s the only review I have seen where the reviewer seems like he might own an A3 and have the same worries as people on here!

At the moment, you're probably right. I think people have moved, as Audi currently have nothing that make me (and others) want another Audi, they we used to. The current A3 / S3 was getting long in the tooth, and the new A3 was delayed. Had it been out early last year when it was supposed to be, then I may have bought a new S3. 333bhp is a nice step up on the current car.

But for me, the new S3 was still some time away, and the prospect of a Q3 interior put me right off. But once the car actually hits the showrooms, and we can see for ourselves the design and build quality, then we can all make our minds up if Audi is something to go back to.

Apart from a £70,000 RS5, noting really appealed to me. So jumped ship to BMW. Totally different car, bought to suit a certain need and purpose. That need and purpose changed within weeks of buying it. Where a Fiesta ST would now be the perfect car for me.

I'll maybe consider an S3 in 2-3 years, at the mid-life facelift. And I still have an RS3 in me. But again it comes down to situation and financial at the time. And the never wavering pull of a 911. Pretentious or not as you claim.

I am similar to you. I owned ten A3s over the years but have recently changed to an Audi Q3 Sport 40 s-tronic quattro. I basically needed more luggage space as I now have to use a mobility scooter and it fits better in the Q3 than the A3. I still look in to the A3 forum as I'm still interested i the A3 range. Quite a lot about the Q3 is similar or the same as the A3 especially the new A3. The dash for example is almost identical, Like you have gained many good friends over the years and enjoy the chat and banter. The Q3 forum on ASN and the Q3 Club forum are rather dull compared with this forum.
