Hi Guys,

I may be considering lowering my 1.6 A3 TDI Sportback I am thinking around 30-40mm, you could probably fit a coke can horizontal in the back arch above the 18 inch S Line alloy.

I've heard any lower than 30mm might have to upgrade the shocks which I want to avoid.

I do like how the A3 S Line sits I know it's 25mm lower than the Sportback I'd imagine which I have so gives me an idea so if I went for 30mm front and rear it would be a tad lower than the A3 S Line as standard.

The front seems to sit nicer and lower. I don't want to get coilovers , was wondering if 30mm will make a nice difference here's the car below.

Any links for springs my budget is up to £150 not much more. If I can get some not fussed about brand £100 or under even better.

Would these fit I have a 2014 model these say 2012 - if that means onwards. I have 5 dr 2014.

Thanks guys

Kris

40mm lower than what? Since it doesn't indicate the starting point, I would check. Also tell your insurance company you have modified the suspension. .

Normally that is calculated from the Dynamic suspension. But with the cheap springs there is often problems with bouncyness.

Since Kris seems to want to do this for looks and only wants to spend £150, and I assume plans to fit lower springs with his existing 6 year old dynamic shocks, I would doubt controlling bounciness is high up his list.
Kris, your car looks great with those wheels as it is. 99% of people won't even notice the wheel arch gap. From a safety aspect, personally I'd stick with the Alloy wheel upgrade and leave the suspension the way Audi designed.

Hey bud that's what I am starting to think now:) thanks for the advice.

I've bitten the bullet and not gone silly ordered 40mm Lo Suspension springs so if I am correct as I have the sport back which I assume sits 15mm lower than a standard Audi that will get me 25mm lower which would be perfect without compromise. I've always liked the ride height of the A3 S Line sportback and I know they sit 25mm lower than standard so this should sit similar I guess.

Although these springs I bought say for Audi A3 Sportback 8V 1.6 Tdi so is it possible as it says these are bespoke made to the model type that it could be 40mm drop from the actual height the Sportback is now being 15mm lower than standard A3 already ?? If so a bonus ;)
