Clicking (creaking) sound after lowering with Eibach springs? Videoclip

Guys,

As mentioned in this topic (https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/bilstein-b12-kit-experience.387979/) I fitted some Eibach Pro springs on my FL A3 E-Tron.

Happy with the looks and sportiness, but not with the 'clicking (or creaking?) sound' when steering (standing still or driving slowly).

What could this be?
Before lowering, it was 100% quiet.

I made a small videoclip: Can you guys listen to the sound (volume loud)?

Sound isn't very loud, so maybe use some headphonesto hear the continues little creaking sound.
 
I lowered my SQ5 when i had it & went for ABT springs. Wish i had never done it. It looked great & cornered like a GTI but the ride was horrible, i did my research first & ABT gear is not cheap but was supposed to keep ride comfort etc but in my opinion it wasn't.
My RS6 i have now is on the air suspension & it's like a limo now compared to how the SQ5 was on the lowered springs.

My ride isn't horrible... After lowering it is actually very good! Driving/'attacking corners'/etc it feels great. It feels like my former GTI and also about similar to a '16 A4 S-line I drive at work (maybe even better).
Only downsides: A little to firm on potholes and the mentioned clicking/creaking.

If I can solve the creaking, I'm 98% happy with this setup.

Went to to mechanic who installed the springs.
He checked everything an greased all relevant rubbers, bout creaking (like in the video) didn't go away.
He told me the sound could come from the strut mounts and they can be replaced, but he can't guaranty this solves the problem...
And extra downside: extra costs: labour+mounts+re-alignment again).

So I'm hoping, with the knowledge on this forum, hearing the sound in my video, others recognize the sound and know how to fix it (without going back to the original springs/ride height of course).

When I fitted the MSS kit to my S3, the instructions said it was very important to make sure all the springs were fitted properly into the rubbers and touch the stops as you can introduce noises if not.
Also it's always a good idea to have fitted new top mounts while dismantled because as you now realise it's a full strip down again.
Before the MSS I had eibach pro's on the car with zero noise issues and I have eibach pro's on the SQ5 without any noises too.
Have you tried spraying wd40 in an attempt to isolate the cause?
 
The machanic told me he greased all the relevant rubbers today... And told me he can't lubricate strut mounts from the outside, because the 'grease' is inside those mounts/bearings...

But creaking is still hearable...
Do you hear it on my video?
 
Yes it's very quiet though so difficult to tell tbh

Checking your comments and pictures from the other thread, i wouldnt assume the mechanic has done the job correctly.
The rear springs arent sat into the rubbers properly so how do you know the fronts are done right?

@-Ju- : Yes, could be. But mechanic re positioned those rear springs today and no difference...

Tried steering, standing still, on a stock different A3 and a A1 we have at work today and I can hear the exact same sound...
A little less hearable, because they have running petrol engines...
Maybe I'm a 'whiner' and shouldn't worry about it, because when driving at normal speeds, the sound ins't there and the ride is fine...

The rears wont have anything to do with the sound as that is purely from the front.
Maybe it is just the fact your actually looking for a problem that isn't there,.as you say you dont have the engine noise to hide any unusual noises
 
Update: Removed the Eibach Pro lowering springs a couple of weeks ago, because I didn't like the behavior on speedbumps and potholes.
So back on stock ride height and looking for decent A-brand coilovers.

When my mechanic removed the Eibach lowering springs, he replaced the top strut mount bearings for new (Sachs) ones.
The 'creaking noise' disappeared completely!
