Next model A3

100% i would consider one again it was a brilliant car :icon thumright:
I just wasn’t prepared to wait a year for the new one having had my RS3 4 years & the 45 was perfect for me on this occasion so that was that.
Plus it is nice to be in a different brand after 12 years of Audi’s.

I may consider a face lift down the line but just because I’ve got a Merc now it doesn’t mean that’s me done with Audi. There’s still some Audi blood in me lol :)
Haha I hear you buddy:icon thumright:
I have been looking today at RS3's on the Trader...I don't think I will buy new again at least for now anyways?
They still fetch a premium though..To get a decent one I'm looking at least another £10k on top of mine as a part ex.
Also been toying with going stage 1 tune on my S3 just to keep the interest in the car. Will wait and see what the year brings. Thanks for the reply :friends:

Oh no mate, but given what is going on with flight cancellations maybe not the worst thing, as could have struggled to get there or back. Hope you feel better soon, and hopefully all sorted (this lockdown) for June.

We were supposed to be in Verona this weekend. EasyJet cancelled flights earlier in the week (we weren’t going anyway!) but now chasing down vote refund with bank.

Turn it off - simple

And the news. BBC doing their best to inflict hysteria in the UK population. Went shopping yesterday, and load of empty shelves.

Some old dear was struggling to pull her shopping trolley around. It was one of the big trolleys. Upon inspection, it was laden with the following.

6 cardboard trays of value baked beans. What's that? 12 can to a tray? 72 cans of baked beans
About the same again in Apples.
Even more in oranges.
Packs of kitchen roll (as no bog roll left)
6 loafs of bread

And those are the items I could see. Must have been packs and packs of other thing inside her trolley. Just stupid.

Judging by the fact she’s probably going to be put in self isolation for the next 4 months you can understand why the old dear was stocking up

The Media/news companies advertising revenues will be hitting an all time high...Brexit is done so...this flu thing is like all their Xmas's come at once ....several years ago l decided to avoid news across all types of media, radio,tv,etc etc...they only have there own interests at heart and that is MONEY ....They're sensationalism on the weather,economy....etc etc is something to behold....that includes the once so reliable BBC

If you don’t like it then feel free to mute me or get the mods to delete the posts.

The health secretary has said over 70s being made to self isolate is going to be enforced soon so the “probably” was on the timeline rather than it actually happen. But feel free to bury your head in the sand, it’ll be people with your attitude that will help this to keep on spreading

How have I fuelled hysteria? I said I understand why an old dear would be stocking up - didn’t say anything about the idiots going out buying up all the toilet roll and pasta

Edit: also if you don’t want to talk about it then feel free to not reply and ignore.

And how long has China been in lockdown for?

Meanwhile in Italy it’s well over 1000 deaths in what? 2 weeks or so. Like I said, you keep burying your head in the sand

To link the chat back to the new A3 ...

The recent launch of the new A3 was affected by the current world situation with the motor show launch cancelled ... is there a real risk - it will then affect the launch to market of the car ?

Audi are never on time with either their facelift or new models anyway mate ....if/when delays are introduced then l am sure a couple of months delay wont affect any prospective buyers

Worriers gonna worry but *** gain some perspective. Vast majority won't even get it. Of those that do the vast majority will just get a cold. Tiny amount will get flu. Even smaller amount pneumonia. Virtually no one on a country scale will die e.g. 3200 from a 1.4bn population.

Exactly, now stop panic buying and wash your hands.

I'm not sure what to think of the new A3, think I'll have to see one in person. Didn't mind the touch screen in the new A1 so imagine it'd be similar on the A3.
However using it when driving was woeful.
S3/RS3 latter would be out likely when my S5 is getting a bit "old". Will wait and see.

Audi/VW are just so slow with factory builds. When we were looking for a decent auto to replace JCW for missus, as medical issues meant manual had to go, was quoted 6 months for a polo GTI. No idea on A1 as the deals were cr*p, but reading on the 8V thread, some punter waited 7 months for S3. Cooper S fully specced and ordered on 31/12, delivered to dealer before mid Feb, and collection. 01/03. Ok, built in Oxford, but ironically they all go up to hub in Manchester 1st, but 6 weeks vs. 7 months!! I get the wait for brand new model or maybe RS, but outgoing FL 8V?

Lamborghini inspired vents you mean lol l have never liked the Toy cowboy Gun finished ones the current car has, that's why l got the black/red painted ones this time around..theres always one or 2 things that your not going to be bowled over with no matter what car you buy...but l really do like the front and side on profile of the car...not that keen on the faux vents on the rear bumper though if l honest plus l ain't at interested in hatchback

Or was it Ducati?

I do like the exterior, if I still had an S3 I’m not sure I’d change for the latest one unless it drives drastically differently from the Facelift.

And i'll only being getting one if its got 330 bhp..............mate not doing 300 the vents dont bother me at all...hopefully they'll offer a interior design pack like they have done with the current car, see the old faithful Mono-Pur has been mentioned again in the description of the new cars interior lol

I can’t see them not giving it an increase, that would be a bit daft.

I always had to spec mono pur / extended leather-ette too :icon thumright:

it should be standard (like many extras) but it does finish off the interior.

If the Golf R is getting 330 then the S3 must at least equal that surely.
