Hi Guys,

After 17 years and 138k miles the suspension on my 1.8t is feeling tired to say the least. On top of that one of the front coil springs has just snapped so I'm in a position where I have to do something. I hadn't intended spending any money on the car so I'm torn between just replacing the spring(s) or getting a budget shock/spring kit, such as the one in the link below. Does anyone have experience of this kit or can suggest any other manufacturers that offer something similar, but really needs to be in the same price bracket. I don't want to go for coilovers.

Probably good , however a bit of an unknown on here whereas the Bilstein B12 kit is legend .

I must say the price is very keen .

Not heard of them personally..... but after doing a little bit of research. They’ve been around for a VERY long time. Lots of good reviews.

I’d say go for them on that bases. Then let us know how you get on with them for those in a similar situation as you.

Something else to consider budgeting for is a pair of adjustable rear control arms (Tie Bars) soon as you lower your car, rear camber is gonna be completely out of whack. Don’t cheap out on these though...

Yes, there is a chart , showing the height and camber settings , affects the front as well ,
I fitted a koni pack a while back, only to find , when the rear springs cracked
, now, that there are no spares for it, its discontinued , so im left with fixed -25 mm
rear springs and adjustable front's ... luckily dampers are 'still' fine , not exactly the aftermarket
service you would expect ,

@DPM do you do a full kit with the adjustable rear control arms and what ever other parts are needed when lowering the car?
Or would I need to get the other parts from CBauto?
