  1. Hi Guys

I have recently purchased an Audi A3 1.6 TDI Sportback- not S Line edition.

I have purchased some 18 inch alloy wheels online and I didn't realise these are the 18 inch Audi A3 S Line concave alloys but from a Saloon.

Will these fit on my A3 hatchback ok?

    Thanks for your help guys

    Kris

Have a look on the back of the wheel, should have the ET number stamped on there if they are genuine Audi wheels. Anything from ET 54 to ET 45 will fit.

Sooty I will check I have had different responses I have been told they will fit but the offset will be different and they will be wider is that a major bad thing safety wise?

These are ET46 they are the genuine Audi A3 S line 5 spoke alloys from a Saloon and I have an A3 hatchback

ET46 will fit ok. The wheels will be flush with the wheelarchs and look right. If you are coming from 16 or 17” wheels, the car body will look a bit higher, optical illusion.

and I’ll pre empt your next question-
What tyre size do I need?
225/40/18 is the answer.

Do you imagine it will rub the arches much, they already have tyres of 225/40/18 taking into account they are 18 inch 8J ET46 hope the car isn't lowered at all just hope I don't get stuffing and rubbing they being fitted in 1 or 2 days time I'm getting it done at a garage so they can do the tracking and replace one tyre the garage wouldn't decline fitting because of the difference in wheel type, offset etc?

Thanks sooty

I thought you had standard springs but if lowered it really depends by how low the car is now.
Have a look at the third post here https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/eibach-suspension-picture-thread.374597/
In the first paragraph Motley says his standard ride height is 347 mm wheelarch lip to centre of wheel. If yours is the same within a couple of mm then you also have standard SE springs and you’ll be ok.

Hey sooty sorry I meant my car is on standard springs adding 18s from the grandad 16inchs that are on it I will only have a few mm to play with gap between the arch and wheel and would leave it as will look nice enough just the two inch extra on the wheel size.

Thanks for all your help tonight will upload some pics when the wheels are put on this week. Kris

Here's my car now 2014 version

Bearing in mind it should hopefully not look to much like a bus on stilts as the older Audi A3 didn't have a more snug body bumpers etc I don't plan on lowering so hopefully the 18s will fill it out it will look higher optical illusion with the bigger rims as long as the gap is gaping to much between arch and top of wheel after

You have the 8V Model not an 8P. This could make a big difference in wheel and tyre fitment, so better ask in the other forum.
