First world problems, but I'm having trouble working out how to get google earth on the displays as I had in my S3. Car has the right tech packs, and I've "checked" google earth in the relevant menus, but just getting ordinary maps. I think it says "TM Pro" in the bottom right corner, not Google.

Tried entering the 8 digit MMI code I had under the "myaudi" app but it didnt take - was this unique to the S3?? (I've deleted the S3 and added the S4 and the same code seems to remain). Phone is paired to the car ok, and I presume the 67 model year has a built in SIM.

Not sure if I need the 10 digit code to become a "key user" first - Stockport Audi have ordered that for me free of charge.

I've searched all the audi forums, and the audi website, but can't seem to work out what's happening!! (they seem to make it very complicated) If there's a quick answer from folks on here, I'd love to hear it !!

It's going in to local Audi soon to have the non-functioning fuel flap fixed, so I might get some answers then, although I'm not sure how techie they are!

Firstly, unless you've a SOS module then the 10 digit code is redundant and the dealership needs to register you are the key holder, however all that brings is the digital service record, no remote unlocking of door etc.

As for the google overlay, check the licences are all active within the MMI. I don't have my manual with me as I'm at work so you'll have to find you way with this. Also, had the whole MMI been reset when you purchased so you can enter all your setup from scratch?

Thanks for the quick reply. Somehow I doubt the MMI would have been reset - I had to delete about 20 mobile phone pairings for example!

I’m at work also, so will have another look this evening - I found the manual a bit hard to follow tbh!

I would do a complete factory reset of the MMI then...

I'm not sure if you've done it or not but have you tried going onto audi connect and then down to Google earth and load it from there?

Yep but didn’t seem to work. Going to try @cuke2u reboot suggestion next! Thanks

So my Google maps only started working after I connected myself as the main user buy entering the code attached to the keyfob!

Worked perfectly since then, as does Amazon Music, but it's a bit pants!

Sounds promising - I’ve already requested a new 10 digit code from the dealer

Good news - i did @cuke2u “factory reset” and it worked! Thanks guys. That said the contrast isn’t very good and nowhere near as clear as my S3 even with the display brightness turned right up! See pic. Pleased it’s working though :thumbs up:

G Earth Day
So google earth working fine and brightness problem solved by manually selecting "day" instead 0f "auto" under the day/night settings! Thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated.

Yes exactly. You had night mode on.
Fyi....auto means the colours are selected in accordance with the headlights. Especially with the light in auto mode
