Evening,

Another question , should the boot open under its own or is this not a thing unless I have the auto close feature? Because it's so annoying pressing the button and it just pops off the match but doesn't open at all

Also if that is a thing i assume that would cost a fortune to fit?

Many thanks
Josh.

If you don't have a button inside the tailgate (when its open) which you can push to close it then I would guess it doesn't have a powered tailgate. I know on some saloons and hatchbacks people fit some sort of springs that will assist opening until the gas struts kick in but I'm not sure its something that's available on these.
Would guess you'd be right and it would be quite pricey to source parts and fit, probably not super easy but not impossible to retrofit.

Awh this is so frustrating a simple open should happen , and I get the auto close being an extra but this is a nightmare if your carrying anything haha, I did try Google search to no avail all I got was things about faulty locks

I retrofitted this to my Avant and wouldnt want to be with out it. Is yours a saloon or avant?

What mine does, when the towbar is fitted and got the bike rack on, the boot only pops, I have to press the boot handle to open it, it might be doing that.

Not difficult to do but it depends on your level of expertise... Need to remve trim panels, fit motors, install new wiring etc.

Yeah over 1k isn't even an option, looks like i.may have to struggle if there isn't a viable option they joys of modern day convince

I can probably put a kit together for you for way less than kufatec sells it. The installation if your confident enough needs trim panels removing in the boot, side panels, d pillar trim, centre roof trim, tailgate trim all need coming off. VCDS for some coding
