I have bought some racingline springs for my facelift s3 saloon with mag ride and told need to use ODIS to recalibrate the mag ride. I spoke to a few garages and they said VAGCOM can do it but seen on here it has to be ODIS. Can anyone confirm this and can anyone recommend anyone in Hampshire, closer to Portsmouth best as prices seem to vary and rather it done properly than someone say VAGCOM works as don't want to delete magride.

How does the recalibration work aswell to ensure the garage does the correct thing?

They really can't do it wrong. It's very simple and the screen in ODIS tells you everything you need to check and do.

It's just the function "Adapt the control position" they have to perform as described below:

Thanks for this, does it have to be done in ODIS? As I took my olf golf to a garage last night at work so its cheaper and they said they can do it but would use VAGCOM as better than ODIS but heard ODIS is only proper way so rather pay quality than cheap and not be proper way

You can't do it with VCDS ( VAG-COM Diagnostic System). ODIS is the only software that can make this calibration so they simply doesn't know what you're asking them about.

@DJAlix is your man for this.

You’ll screw things up attempting it with VCDS.
