Hi guys, first post so hopefully I'm in the right place. Currently having a bit of a headache with my convertible roof. First it would only open a few inches sorted that with a new motor, now the roof starts to fold up as it should but the rear deck lid wont open for the roof to fold into. No sound just back roof folds up the straight back down. I've searched forums endlessly and cant find anything. I've attached a few photos from vcds today

Speak to my coding partner in Leicester. He is a roof specialist:

http://www.vagpro.co.uk

This could be relative to the roof switch in the center console as they have been known to go faulty tbh on B6/7 or the sensors in the roof system, ideally find a cheap fully functioning switch to test with would be my 1st port of call if the diagnostics show switch positions are showing correctly.

Thanks guys, I've emailed vagpro to some advice To make things a bit more clear I went on the website and had a look through his videos of fault and mine is there, its fault 9 here
http://www.vagpro.co.uk/fault-library/#A4-Fault-Library.

Not so sure about the switch as the roof lifts but I dont know I'm new to one of these cars so will have a look into it

That's a good site, respect where it's due.

Interesting series of roof issues, but pointless for me in Australia because there is no solution offered except "come in and see me"

Have you manually opened the roof all the way and then closed it, that should reset the sensors unless there is an actual fault. Have you got the special roof key to unlock the front and rear catches (drivers side panel where fuses are kept)

Yes done manual reset a few times but still no joy. I'm going to get a new motor for the deck lid and new rear catches see if that works. If not looks like I'll be going to see a specialist

There is also a motor for the deck lid aswell
