Well I'd think that has messed up your thoughts wrt Audi products, not a good situation to be in, was it an Audi dealership that you bought the car from with some sort of warranty, or just a general seller of used cars?

Nice plan to avoid doing anything though, I'm guessing that car dealer does not have much good press if they can't check their stock, or potential stock to avoid ending up with one that will give them problems - and when they do end up with a troublesome one, just stand back from fixing it, yes sounds like a dodgy trader, maybe name and shame so that others can avoid them.

Easy fix really yes they can fuse in with upright been alloy and bearing been steel 90 mins tops to do a bearing very poor if stealership can’t repair it

As soon as you said Arnold Clark... utter shower. I feel for the staff actually, basically a sales led machine with zero customer service. Wheel bearings and suspension work is basic.

Hum, that kind of sums that operation up nicely!

@J27 now if you were out of warranty things would have been different - as long as they were, in your case an Audi dealership.

I'd think that if that it is okay buying a car from them if you made a good saving relative to other outlets, then take it elsewhere like an good VW Group Indie for these problems, maybe sounds a bit silly paying for what might be slightly covered by your Uncle Arnie used car warranty, but it is the longer term health and happiness with that car that should be your top priority I think.

My older daughter bought a used car from their used car showroom back in late 2004, an exlease 6K Ibiza always serviced by Uncle Arnie emporiums - though not at the suppling SEAT dealership, but down South, front camber on one side way off, I had to pay for that, took 3 visits by daughter and total "nothing wrong there you're imagining things" eventually got KwikFit to check it locally, the guy agreed that it needed serious front re-alignment probably after being in contact with a kerb or three - so back I went, "nothing wrong mater tech has driven it", another heated discussion, workshop foreman took it for a drive after refusing to just view it from the front as it was very obvious, "okay we will look at it", then a phone call "sorry the cables for our re-alignment bench don't exist it needs to be taken elsewhere" - so after that visits and 8 hours waiting for a phone call it was sorted out by their Nissan, I think branch. A year later I discovered that there were different same diameter discs on the front, one correct and one from the previous model so a different "height" - nice! Now that daughter went through owning a 6J Ibiza SC okay sourced elsewhere and now a new, but pre-reg'd SEAT Leon Cupra from Uncle Arnie - no real choice locally, I scanned the car, many factory build acquired logged faults and some niggling door locks ones that return, I hope its first service will sort that out - only thing being, I'll probably get the job of dealing with that!
