Hi all

I have a 2014 Audi A6 saloon with a factory fitted Bose DAB hifi.
Recently I have fitted a Nextbase 522GW dash cam next to the rear view mirror with an optional separate rear window add on camera.
Since I have fitted it I have noticed that my DAB reception has been affected, some radio stations can not be heard anymore and the stronger stations also drop out.
If I turn the camera off then everything is ok.
I have fitted the ferrite core supplied with the camera as close to the power socket to the dash cam as possible.
The optional add on camera did not have a ferrite core supplied with it.
I have ran the cable from the dash cam to the rear camera in the roof line trim along the passenger side of the car.
Are there any tips any of you could give me to eradicate the interference I am getting please?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Seems the 522 is a little hit & miss even with coils.

Does it interfere with just the front connected too, with rear cable disconnected completely from front end?

It's certainly a lot better with just the dashcam upfront, as soon as I connect the rear camera I instantly get more drop outs.
I've tried connecting a ferrite core as close to the rear camera as I can, it's made a slight improvement but It's still interfering.
Would you suggest re-routing the cable feed to the rear camera under the sill covers?
I've ordered some more ferrite cores to put separate cores on each of the cables (Power and rear camera) going into the dash cam, at present they are both sharing one core.
I'm running out of ideas to be honest.

Tbh from my r&d these 522 units have a bit of a history with this issue, I'd consider changing for an alternative that doesn't give of any interference.

Don't know if this is any help - while looking at dash cams this came up - he was fitting it to an Audi and had DAB problems.

Had a bit more success yesterday.
Relocated the rear dashcam to the corner of the rear window instead of being in the middle where the shark fin aerial is close to and moved all of the gathered spare rear camera cable (which had been tucked into the roof lining) up to the front of the car behind the glove box.
Had a drive around for half an hour and didn't experience any dropouts :yahoo:
I've ordered some more ferrite cores to fit on the power cable at the fuse box end to try and eliminate any other interference that the dashcam may be causing, so far so good, fingers crossed at the moment :thumbs up:

Nice, will bare that in mind when I come round to getting a cam setup.
In a related/unrelated way I do a lot of work for a Volvo dealership (windscreen fitter or glass tech to use the posh name) and as soon as they get DAB issues one of their go to warranty fixes is to replace the heated rear window even if its not the type that has an antenna built in, something about the degrading element placing more electrical load on the feed and causing the interference. So in a way not too dissimilar placing a power hungry module near to the antenna for DAB.
