So, my S3 was bought and collected today - recommended the forums to the new owner, naturally - and so I am no longer an Audi owner.

Went for a very different car, much more like my previous cars having scratched my hot hatch itch..... a BMW 740Ld Xdrive!

Thanks to all, best wishes and may well be back some day :)

Wow! That's some jump in size or car. Is that the all new 740? The one with the HUGE kidney grill?

One was sat in the showroom when I went in to buy my X3 M40i. It's certainly a Marmite front end kind of car. But I'm sure some colours will make it look better than others.

Got any pics?

Very big change! Soooo long. Lots of tech packed in though. Did you get a chauffeur too?

They do look quite nice in person.

Did you go brand new? Depreciation looks steep, crazy what you can pick one up for after 3 years.

Actually, it is 2016 740Ld Xdrive…..couldn't justify a new one's cost!

Before the S3 I had a factory order Mercedes CLS, and before that a Jaguar XF.....always liked the big executive barge, but fancied a change/hot hatch itch with the Audi :)

Enjoy your new car. :)
I too was initially very surprised at your choice coming from an S3, but after you explained I understand now. :innocent:
At least you scratched that itch....and you picked the right colour to do it. ;)

P.S. The CLS is a beautiful car too. :sunglasses:

Congrats on the new car @kevpuk

Another Audi to BMW member.

No need to leave the forum though, wish to hang around on here. Would be good to hear how the 740 is going, with a few pics.

Loving that interior. :sunglasses:
It is quite some place to be...… 8(!) different massage programmes, and the seat heating is sooo much better than any previous car; seems to generate almost all over warmth, rather than heat in specific areas, if that makes sense.
I never figured a HUD would be an option I would tick, but am very impressed with the 7's stab at such a thing - almost converted!

That's a nice big motor! I too love the interior, looks amazing.
I was the same as you regarding HUD, but my new car came with it as standard and it's fantastic. I have, however, limited what shows on the screen to avoid it getting too congested.
