audi A5 B8 bang and olufsen front speakers blown

Hi,

Had an issues today with the drivers door lock mechanism (stuck cable) which I fixed with some white grease, while I had the door card off I noticed the front speaker was blown, well the foam surround is completely shot, the speaker still works.

So I looked at the passenger side and it is the same. Is this a common issues for the B&O setup?

Is it worth trying to find a second hand pair, or upgrade to a new speaker of high quality matching the Ohm rating.

Funny thing is the stereo still sounds good, had the car around 6 months so probably like that when I brought it.

Even seen a video on how to repair them



Anyone had an success with that.

No, I got a replacement set from fleebay for £60. I did buy the cone repair surrounds but the factoey speakers front plastic grills are glude to the housing making repair difficult. I would probably look at a replacement 8" or even decent 6.5" bass as I don't think the factory ones are that great, even replaced!
