My pride and joy had a fight with some roof tiles and lost. This meant I needed a new bonnet, going through Apollo, an Audi approved repair centre near me, they have done the work all be it it took nearly 4 long weeks!
Now my new bonnet is slightly lower than the wings, only millimeters, but not flush. I took it back, they had a look and said it’s the best they can do, “all these Audi’s are the same, they’re not perfect”.
Am I being too anal in wanting it to sit flush, should I just accept this?

Nope, I certainly wouldn’t accept this, so I’d take it back and insist they sort it to original alignment. You should also get some pics of other A3s showing the correct bonnet alignment to show them.

Audi approved repIr centre means nothing. All the nationwide chains are.
When I needed some body repair doing I went to a premium place. Had to negotiate with the insurance company, but 5he repair and service was superb. The centre was full of Porches, Range Rovers, Jags etc. Didn’t see any budget cars.

Having said all that, something as basic as bonnet alignment should be correct. Don’t sign off the insurance company’s paperwork until it is perfect.

There’s rubbers under the bonnet to adjust the bonnet height etc but you may need to adjust the latch’s to sit into the bonnet catch’s.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve taken a couple of pics in the light, if anyone else could have a look and let me know if I’m just being ott...
