Hi guys

Thinking on getting a obd Wi-fi scanner can any one recommend one that works with a diesel and iPhone ?
Also which apps work best.

Thanks in advance

Had Craista for about 3 years bow and it is simple to use: Scan->clear->go.

Have my dongle for iPhone and upgraded contract to Android phone.
Once subscribed to Pro on iPhone, you cannot transfer it to android.
Dongle and subscription have to be new for Android.

I will be selling my dongle soon but still can use it on iPad, for now.

For easy mods it's also ok

Carista dongle and app. Works fine on my iphone 6s and 2009 TDI. App is free to download and gives some basic freebies. There are also, I believe, monthly or yearly subscriptions to get full access.

I agree, but just to point out, Carista uses Bluetooth for comms with their own dongle the logic being that that leaves wifi free to send the report to your printer - and that works fine for me, I seem to remember earlier versions of Carista did by default, "line you up" to send the report to your email address probably so that you could then send it to a printer etc for archiving it.
Its always handy to have a saved version of all scans as that avoids the old "what was logged last time?" questions/suspicions.

Cheers guys I will give it a look. I was thinking I would have to have Wi-fi.

Thanks again

Just to correct a bit of ambiguity I might have ended up handing out, from what I remember, when using an iPhone the Carista dongle uses the Apple version of Bluetooth, and so frees up WiFi on that device for other tasks like talking to a printer etc. When you use Carista with Android, I think that it uses WiFi, things might have changed if other devices use the later version of Bluetooth.

It's a shame Obdeleven haven't finished their iOS app yet as I think it's a much better value device
