Hello everyone,

I had my car now for 3 months and only seen the COD Cylinder on demand activating twice.. I know certain conditions have to be meet to trigger activation but I have tried all driving modes but no difference. Also I’m not heavy footed at all many times I drive coasting on the motorway and on 1400 to 1600 rpm..

Any idea the way to trigger it? My car is just passed 8k now and nearly 2 yo..

Many Thanks

In my experience it’s impossible not to trigger it. Travel along a flat road at (say) 40mph and lift off. It will trigger.
You will need to have the option to view it on the DIS because you can’t really feel it.

In what drive mode you have when it triggers?

I can’t remember for sure. When I first had the car I used to monitor it from time to time, I haven’t checked for years - no point really, doesn’t make any difference to anything. But certainly in normal mode it should trigger.

I think it i more likely that the DIS does not show it as said above, I would not notice mine without the dis telling me it was on.
I can't remember which mode (or dis setting perhaps?) you need to be in for it to show on the dis without looking at the handbook but mine is normally in dynamic and comes on across the speed range. I particularly find that whenever I put the cruise control on at 30, 40, 50,and even 70 it shows unless it is pulling uphill.

its more likely to activate if your in a certain rev range too. for example, if im driving along in a 30mph, the car will drive fine in 4th,5th and 6th gear but the COD will only activate if in 4th.

^This. And with light engine load ie no significant incline or accelerator pressure.

Cruising at 1400rpm is too low for it to kick in as engine will be working harder.

I have the 1.5 engine and cod does not always show. Across the top of my pinnacle display I have 4 options. If on the left hand one I can use the left hand steering wheel thumb wheel to scrool through mpg, trip etc. When in this mode cod will come up on the display if it is running.
If I have chosen sat-nav, the right hand one of the four, then I get instructions in the middle of the pinnacle display and the cod will not be displayed.

Correct, you have to be in the View of the on board computer section or the efficiency View i believe but deffo in the on board computer part. I always have the digital speedo set and it doesn't show up there.

The mode kicks in instantly whilst at a constant speed and deactivates shortly when accelerating and does so in every drive select mode except Dynamic.

If you put the mpg reading in the middle of the rev counter I think the bar goes green when COD is active as well.

i just checked there too, car needs to be on the mpg display for it to appear.
