I take it your not paying for the parts that have been thrown at this as nothings resolved the issue?

We haven't spoke about the parts he has just been putting on I sort of want to wait till the car is ready. Just cause I wouldn't trust him to do it right if we where to argue about stuff 1st.

So finally got a phone call about 5 today to say that the problem all along was a faulty wire going to the EGT sensor. So that was fixed and the Bosch 610cc injectors where put back in and car was running perfectly.
So on to the mapping he went and it finished at 361.3bhp which I have to say I'm well pleased with.

all that headache over a faulty wire, al least your up and running, you picked it up yet? 360 should give you plenty of smiles

Wait so all this time fuelling issues were down to a faulty egt sensor wire?... That would have thrown a fault code... So he hasn't picked up on that in all this time?

<tuffty/>

@Tj 0785 no can't get to pick it up until Tuesday as he is no closed until then but looking forward for the drive home.
@<tuffty/> yes he said the fueling issue was a faulty wire going to the EGT sensor. I asked him over a month ago had he scanned it for codes when he was saying about coil packs and other parts and faulty injectors and he said he had but no codes where there.
Then on Tue he said he scanned it again and the EGT sensor code came up and he then checked the wiring before he would buy a new sensor and fixing a wire solved the problem.
I don't believe him when he has said he scanned it weeks and weeks ago because I know he would have saw the fault.
This will be a conversation I will be having with him on Tuesday when I go for the car.

Hopefully he’s reasonable with his invoice, pick the car up, put it behind you as life’s too short, and go on to have many miles of enjoyable trouble free motoring

Wee update.
Picked up the car yesterday afternoon and have to say I love it. Plenty of smiles on the way home and last nite when out in it.
He ended up not charging me for the spark plugs, coil packs or the N75 valve which was good.
Bill helped out a lot by advising him over the phone and even sending base map files over for the 610cc injectors which helped out a lot and I'm very greatfull for. Other wise my car would probably still be there with him scratching his head at it.
Just going to enjoy it for the nxt few months and then I'll get the meth kit and cams fitted.

You’ve got a strong car there with your result mate without meth and cams! Enjoy! I’m still enjoying mine when I get out in it.....

around 4-5k+ more it’s quite a big jump from stage 2, but also depends what mods you have already 3” dp, full exhaust, fmic, bigger injectors, upgraded fuel pump new rods(maybe even full rebuild more £££) hybrid turbo, exhaust manifold, mapping session and depends what you can do yourself and if buying new or used

Depends how far you want to go with it.... my setup didn’t give me much change from £10,000

With all the engine work and then turbo package and exhaust it works out just over £6.5k. All my parts where brand new so you could do it cheaper if you find someone breaking one.
I don't really care what it would cost cause if I was not to spend it on my car there would be something else that it would go on that probably wouldn't be as much fun as the car.

Took my car for a headlight alignment today because my mot is due in a couple of weeks. The drivers side one was spot on but the passenger side was way to low. They tried adjusting it manually but the light would not go up any. I know that my level sensor at the back passenger side has broke of so I was wondering if I disconnect the level motor from the headlight would that make it better to adjust manually. Just want to know before I have to take the bumper of and remove the headlight to see what is wrong.

When mine failed on headlight adjustment,it was the white cog (turns with allen key) on top of the headlight assembly that had come loose from the metal shaft. It couldn't be bonded back on as the hole in the middle of the plastic was too big.I managed to find a scrappy A3 and prised one off that headlight and bonded that cog onto my headlight.

Have a look mate and see if the cog spins freely.

I think I might still have the other from the donor headlight...if you need one.

Cheers @tcg If I need it I'll let you know. They aren't that old though they where got in one of the group buys on here I think about a year and a half ago. Will get a better look tomorrow when there is better light and hopefully the rain has stopped.

Hoping someone can help.
When I turn the steering wheel all the way round on full lock on either side and either parked or driving there is like a whining noise coming from the car. Its sounds worse when driving and turning.
I tried to upload a video but cant seem to get it to upload.
Not sure where to start looking and at this time of year I dont really have the cash to leave it into a garage so would like to try and find it and sort it myself.

Check the belt and tensioner that runs the power steering pump is OK. Also check the PAS steering oil level, if it's low check for leaks on the PAS pipes in front of the engine, they rust. If belt and tensioner is good and level is fine, change the PAS fluid. It's a green mineral type , don't use the wrong type.

Arrrggghh I replaced mine a couple years ago, I will look through my invoices see if I can find a part number.

Bit of a basic question but how do the number plate lenses disconnect? It's just before I go and break something do you need to remove the boot lid trim or do they pop out when you undo the 2 screws from outside?

From memory I think you have to remove the boot trim from inside mate. I changed mine a couple years ago.

Have you done this yet?????........if there the same led's as the ones i bought then save yourself the hassle as they wont work. Well atleast i couldn't see how they was a direct replacement for the originals as advertised!

Ofcourse if you figure it out share the knowledge

Thanks @S3AMJ
@ADs3 not did it yet hopefully get it at tomorrow but I'll post up here how I get on. Only reason I got these is that the drivers side one has broke where the screw goes in and now the lense hangs down so I thought these led lights would be better brightness so hopefully they work.
