What Detailing / Car Care Products Have You Bought / Ordered Today?

Just a question on the Bilt Hamber snow foam, how much product are you adding to your lance?

I ask because i have used both and i found Autoglym to be poor for cleaning power. Lovely and thick, but little cleaning power.

Bilt Hamber is thinner but defo seems to clean better for me.

Happy christmas to you all.

Depends on how filthy the car is, I have used between 1:10 - 50/50. And BH is my go to product with occasional use of Surfex HD as a PW. Imho AG stuff is guff and not worth spending money on. Having said that, I do use their metal cleaner for exhaust tips

Same as me mate. I tend to use about 100ml BH to 600/700ml water, give or take. Like you find the cleaning power much better.

Merry Xmas

IIRC, you did mention a few months ago to not mix different products together especially SF and APC as each loses its cleaning ability as well as effectiveness. You keep changing your mind @jassyo06 ... Lol and keep confusing the lot here

He just likes to **** with everyone.

Well said, I have never got to 50:50, maybe 1:3 at most. I just find the thinner solution. Pulls dirt off better than the thicker foams. That said, Gyeon foams like a b*stard and is pretty good, and smells good too

Beemer man? He is a S4 man

Sadly though @X3man, I now own a 3-Series (330d, 245ps) as well. Bought as a daily a few months ago as I am now doing around 500 miles a week :wtf::scared2: and didn't want to clock up miles on either the S4 or A3...

Now back to the subject , between Wetcoat and Wetcoat Essence, which one would you experienced lot prefer. I am itching to wash both the cars as I have not washed both in a little over 3 months :puke2::wtf:. I need to order quite a few bits and thought I'll ask before placing the order ...

Bought quite a lot as haven’t done any proper detailing in over a year. Had to renew my microfibre buffing clothes (from Ragmasters Uk)

various compounds and drying towels (mycarcleaning, based in Newcastle)

Also bought a Milwaukee M12 polisher/sander for smaller more localised scratches. Paint repair guys at work have been showing me how to get the best out of them.

just need to find a day when i have nothing planned, which is gonna be hard with a 4yr old and a 9month old.

I dont see the point of wet coat Essence mate as once diluted it's the same thing and same price as the normal wet coat ,l would go with a litre bottle of normal wet coat but for more durability apply another product on afterwards like a good quick Detailer

Cheers mate. I've ordered Hydro2 along with Cure instead of Wetcoat essence as can't be bothered with applying it with a mitt/MF . Planning on topping it up with Cure for longevity. Also, ordered 0ppm Race Glaze for a final rinse as water is very hard in the area I've just moved to

I had a 3 series. Stay away from cheap tyres. Goodyear eagle asymmetric F1 transformed the car when I had mine.

Cheers mate. I put Michelin CrossClimate on as soon as I bought the car. Having said that, I will be getting rid of it as I am looking for either a 1.6Tdi Golf or a Passat. Smaller engine and better fuel economy

How do you rate that over h20go etc

I use normal polish on my side windows and was going for the angle wax for the screen

I rate H2Go BIG time!

@Pinky1959 @Rich76 @X3man - H2Go is still my fave window treatment, however for that price I thought I'd give it a try
Its only for side windows mind
I can always pass it on to my son if I don't like it

For anyone considering a Cordless DA you May want to hold off for a few weeks.
I was shown a ShineMate cordless DA before Xmas.
It was a prototype for testing but it looked a great piece of kit.

Price I’m told is going to be a lot less than the Flex offering too.

@X3man will be proud of me!

I was looking into one but I remembered I like stepping on the cord so I can take my hands off it while the cord is over my shoulder

Ordered a Das-6 Pro from clean your car. Aswell as some Scholl 1 stage polish. Both get good reviews and my little battery handheld polisher is good but struggling to do bigger areas with it.

GTechiq G1 glass coating.

Used it on my last four cars with great success. It’s ****** amazing stuff, and seems to last ages. Wipers are generally no longer needed at speed, and ice/snow/frost/dirt etc seems to simply fall off. For those of you aren’t fans of housework it’s also brilliant on bath and shower screens at home, and amazing on patio doors.

Here it is in action on the roof of my Tesla;
