What have you done to your A3 (8p) this week

Swapped out all the bulbs for Led, huge difference and also looks better than dull halogen bulbs. Set of Heko wind deflectors too

Interior LEDs make a massive difference for not a lot of money.

really bad luck, how ?

(Don’t laugh). I got a dash cam for Christmas off my Mrs, I’d not had chance to have a play because I’d spent three days in the freezing cold laid under her 53 plate Fiesta, another story there. Finally got around to having a go with it in the house, no problems there. Fitted the hardwire kit and set everything up, great. Stuck the dash cam mount to the windscreen and wasn’t completely happy with it’s position so I removed the rear view mirror to get in properly. Trouble is, clever old me pulled it off on the ball and socket joint, went to push it back on and well, this....haha.

Sooooooo today I had my new windscreen fitted, turns out you have to twist the rear view mirror from the mount which is bonded to the glass at the factory. Also fitted front and rear dash cams, really happy with the result too....

While washing the car at the weekend the rear wiper arm exploded (with very little force a plastic tab broke off and the spring sprung out).

I used this as an opportunity to fit an 8V updated wiper arm. I couldn’t get the old arm off with normal tools, but once I had a wiper arm puller (and leaving WD40 on it overnight) it was easy.

Looks much more tidy now.

My windscreen fitter used one of those pullers today, brilliant piece of kit.

That is really unfortunate, most expensive dash cam, had similar situation when i placed dash cam and didnt put it on the right spot, but I didnt decide d to remove rearview mirror.

Just installed a Start/Stop memory module. It remembers the last state of the button.
After 4 seconds that the key is turned, it simulates the press of the button and disables the start/stop. Perfect! link

Fitted RTS clutch - what a dream to drive compared to the Spec Stg2 previously fitted.

Love those perforated seats! Were these out of an Audi TT?
They must’ve been from the factory as the rears are the same, the fronts are heated too...

Changed my front drop links. Driver’s side was a nightmare because I didn’t have any spline bits (been meaning to get some for ages). Bought a set of spline bits then the passenger side took about 20 minutes from wheel off to wheel back on. No more rattles over the bumps.

Nice drive to and from Manchester last weekend & today, very fun twisty roads (forgot which ones lol). S**t my pants once when overtaking a lorry but was just a square yellow sign , but I’ve fallen back in love...

With the car of course

One maintenance item I hate is cleaning out the fender liner. Such a bad design

But on the bright side I finally tackled the airbag cover after having it lie around for 2 yrs

I was looking at retro fitting sweeping indicators, looks far better. Is it pretty straightforward swapping them over?
Yea pop out the mirror and take all the screws out slowly pry out bottom plastic of mirror casing and top part should slide upwards with some guidance, the rest is no brainer

Ah, yes. The "wrong side of the pond" issue. :chargrined: We didn't have this option in USA. I once had a 2003 Audi TTQR with "baseball stitch optic" seats, showing a similar dimpled grid pattern. Really great look. :thumbs up: I still kick myself for not having swapped them out of my TT before letting it go, putting in plain seats from a salvage car. But at the time, I had no clue they were size compatible with the A3.

make sure to watch this before, in order to avoid unnecessary damage :)
also friendly tip once you reattach mirror (if it has heating) clean it, use contact spray and then put some wd 40

Well I see everyone pulling the chrome of their Audi, I just fitted chrome strips to my A3 grille.
Very happy with the result.

Needs some foglights to finish the front :D

Honestly I think it looks pretty good! First time I see an a3 like that, and I must say it looks better than the chrome surround only. Goes well with the chrome strip in the fog lights area too.

Thanks! :) Did this to my previouse A3 too, also looked bright because of the rare color the car itself has.

Changed my rear wheel bearing yesterday took me 45 minutes in total. Was not sure if was able to do up the hub bolt to 180 Num and then 180 degrees but managed this. Saved a few £ not going to the garage.

OEM or aftermarket droplinks?

Did my droplinks a couple of weeks ago, went to TPS and they wanted nearly £100 for the pair. Asked around and was recommended Lemforder, got them from GSF with a 60% off code for £35 delivered.
