Unusual Colour RS3

Saw this in the main car park at the Bicester Scramble at the weekend. Quite liked it, but not enough to pay for it. Think it'd look better with the black pack.

Need to ditch those wheels too. Worst ones possible for the RS3.

Still got the silver mirrors though, should've gone body coloured ;)

Think the wheels suit that colour, black would look awful, the grey might be ok though.

Or the newer saloon wheels.

That's mine! You're correct, stealth was the priority when picking options. I did want colour coded mirrors but they don't offer them in the UK unless the car is painted black.

Alex L - could I request you blank or blur out the number plate? I'm paranoid about it getting nicked!

I've deleted the photos from Flickr yet they're still showing for some reason. I've no idea how to edit my first post but re-uploaded the photos with blanked plates.

You can buy them new without badges on the back?

Yes and the front. Ours is completely debadged from factory too.

I've reported my own post, in the hope a mod will edit it for me.

Thanks Alex, much appreciated.

I'm glad I washed it on the Saturday now!

My PFL was debadged from factory, and had body coloured mirrors.

Guess they removed the mirror option on the FL?

I've edited your original post, it is the best I could do on a mobile phone with effing big fingers

I quite like the stealthy look. Can you get the mirrors sprayed. Would look even better (and stealthier) with them body coloured!

Bit marmite without the black pack! Apologies in advance to Mr W.

But much more stealthy in silver which sounds like his aim when speccing the car.
You've busted my edit to try and not come over as an **** ;)

Is the stealthy thing so people won't realise it's an RS3 and steal it? Otherwise I don't get it? I don't get it if it is either.

Deleted my quote for you :)

Afaik that is with no packs as the front spoiler is body coloured and the trim silver / ally. Rare I'd say as most people would spec black or silver pack.

wow that is ultra stealth lol !

An unusual colour choice for sure ... and I assume only available through audi exclusive so a £2k option.

This colour with rear tints, black trim/badges and black wheels would look amazing.

But then it'd obviously be an RS3, whereas I could have easily walked past without noticing it was anything special. It was actually the rare colour that caught my eye, so almost too stealthy that made me take a second look.

I'd want mine to look like an RS3. If I was scared of someone stealing my car I wouldn't buy one.
No chance would I spec my car so it wouldn't get stolen, rather than spec it how I actually wanted it. That's if that was the reason it was made to look so basic.

I totally get that, but I also get having a car that goes totally under the radar and can be left in station car parks without drawing unnecessary attention from jealous people who like to key cars etc

If you did repaint the mirrors back to body colour, just buy a pair of primered covers and get them painted - much cheaper and you could still sell the silver ones to more than cover the cost.

Yeah I get that bit too.

I love it.
Very unique and subtle.
However, those who know, will still know lol.
I had mine debadged from the factory, attracted far less attention imho.

Not one of my fave Audi colours if I'm being honest
But would be a boring world if all drove the same coloured cars IMO

When you select "model spec delete" when buying a new motor, they should give you the badges just in case.
Then you can flog them on eBay.
Just a thought
I always whip my badges off.
Got a great collection in my garage

I came across this one on FB, looks great with black pack.

Thanks to everyone involved in the great number plate censoring. I know I'm crazy but it seems to me that if I was of the mindset to steal a particular model of car then an owner's forum with pictures and plates would basically be a shopping list. The automotive equivalent of being burgled because you announced you were on a two week holiday online. Chances are small, but why increase them unnecessarily?

Stealth was possibly the wrong choice of word for the specification, understated perhaps? Classy but capable, velvet glove iron fist, that sort of thing. I've always been a fan of the sleeper/Q car, especially for a daily driver. To the untrained eye there's little to differentiate, say, an E39 M5 from a cooking model, especially de-badged. In the words of Sir Roger Moore in the Cannonball Run "Why advertise?" However, if you know, you know.

I won't bore you with the reasons behind the various options but the only thing I regret is not getting the tyre pressure monitor, I can live without it though. I love the car, it's immensely capable - it's far faster than anyone really requires, draws very little attention in comfort on the commute yet sounds like a supercar at full chat in a tunnel. The interior is pretty much perfect in terms of tech, ergonomics, and quality of materials. I think the replacement will be uglier and overly complicated with distracting touchscreens and the like.

No, the silver has grown on me and I now think it may be a step too far. Also I'm not really inclined to mess around with this car, I have another project/money pit on the go so it's nice to have something that just works without constant fettling. I have put the misting washer jets from an A6 on though, it's life changing!

No offence but you can't "less attention" a Nardo. They stand out big time.

Where do you get the washer jets? The standard ones have got to be the worst thing about the RS3.
