If i had diagnostics tool would i be able to find which part of the cable is bad? If i can get feedback from camera module separately, it would mean cable and module are ok. And if camera doesnt respond its either camera or cables...

Did they fix or replace the cables? I fixed mine and the camera still won’t turn on. I have some other things to check though.

Yes, thats the one, I did that retrofit not long ago (FL camera into a PFL A3 saloon).

I got the ground from the base of the A-pilar (passenger/MMI side). I wired 12VDC from fusebox (drivers side) to the back of the MMI and took the ground wire to the same place. My wiring harness (from camera) is bundled together so it has 12VDC/ground + CAN High/Low + Video signals all in the same wire bundle. Wiring from the boot to the front of the car was truly painful. I don't know how you guys did it but my fingers are hurting a lot.

I got some weird things when coding the camera, but it works now. I will inform you later if any of you have had any similar "problems".

hi i checked the connection it was loose but the video input was set to LVDS i changed it to FBAS. no there is no error and not even a blank screen showing either. . il post a new auto scan

So it looks like you have resolved your physical issues, now you need to revisit your coding.

is it pramatizating or just coding. i have been over the coded over and over and it cant see anything. driving me mental now. do you a list of codes for me to try plz.

If you Camera was not parameterised then you would have a “no end of line coding” error however your camera could be incorrectly parameterised but then I would expect to see a dataset error.

I would suggest you go over the guide at the start of thread again as all the needed coding is there.

HI @DJAlix i have done an Autoscan today i seen a error on module-19. it still allows me to go into back up camera so it is communicating i think?

yes they cleared away. i copied code to code from the thread on here. only error i get back is 37 - navigation error. but i believe we don't have this?

This would go a lot easier if you could detail what you have done so far in order to try and complete your retrofit. So far you seem to have cleared all the reversing camera related errors so it would seem that your physical retrofit is good. It would be good if you could detail what coding you have now completed, not everything that you have done, just whats been completed so I / we can get an handle on the current situation. If you have errors relating to things other than your camera retrofit then we can look at those after.

Central 09 - add back up camera module
Park assist - add/tick reverse camera
Mmi 5f - adaptations. VPS activate and vps comfort databus.

More than welcome but for information purposes, incase someone else has trouble, could you detail what you did in order to resolve your issue?

I had to use VCP for pram. After coding it accepted and worked. So am guessing it maybe from saloon and did not like it? Also can we get wide angle on these?

Camera should have worked regardless of which "A3" parameter set was loaded, maybe not correctly but should have worked as I have seen and tested this myself. My guess is that it had completely different parameters, maybe from a TT or something.

Widescreen is not possible. This is not controlled via the camera its by design of the MIB2. Camera is full screen on MIB1.

Yes didnt think that! it could be from TT. Was stated it was from an rs3 but they all write that on selling states now lol.

Getting a basic setting error now..calibration time. Need them big checked sheets and ODIS for this?

yes but to be honest with you, after testing with a couple of forum members vehicles and my own, there was no difference between A3 calibrated and un-calibrated camera function / operation.

Yes mine is working fine but my ocd doesn't like the basic setting malfunction ! Just wondered what sort if price it would be
