Sound Setting

Hi guys,

1.I'm just wondering is there a subwoofer in the sound setting? My previous 2016 A3 (audi sound system) has it but I just couldn't find it in my 2019 A6 (I believe it is also audi sound system, doesn't opt for b&o).

2.Another thing, is it normal to hear the creaking sound coming from the bottom of the steering shaft(from what I am hearing) while parking into a spot(backing up or head in) at a really low speed (<>5km/h). I noticed it at night when I parked into a parking lot after driving my car in the rain since morning. The next day after the rain stop, I tried to do the same thing and I couldn't hear the creaking sound anymore. I just got the car 2 weeks ago and it only at 1,000km.

Re the sub setting, yes there are controls for the sound, at least with the B&O system. Adjust the volume so the “Entertainment” volume display shows on the MMI screen, this has a settings button accompanied with it. Full audio settings there. It is a bit hidden I’m afraid. Can also adjust phone call / navigation prompt audio settings individually the same way, accessed in the same way but only if that particular source is playing at the time you adjust the volume control.

re: the steering sound, sorry but I can’t help you there.

Thank you for your reply, I have got into the sound setting, I can see that there are treble and bass but couldn't find the "subwoofer".
 
That leaves me thinking if the Audi Sound System has a subwoofer or not?
 
It’s under where the spare wheel would sit. I found this a little annoying as my C7 had a sub option with the standard audio system.

Correct, under the non-existent spare. Does that mean that the standard sound system doesn’t provide a sub at all?
 
I have the standard system on my C8 and I was told the sub is there and the dealer pointed out the cables. There is no sub option in the menu

That's weird, even with my old A3 2016 that has a spare tire in it, the menu has the sub option.
 
Since the A4 B9, A3 FL and newer there is no subwoofer option anymore if you have Audi Sound System. Only with B&O/Bose

I see, thank you for helping me clarify this. I wonder why they did that haha. Another thing, should there be a little gap between the mirror and the mirror housing on side mirror? Because I can see a bit of the metal thing through the gap so wonder if that is normal
 
One more thing guys, Is it possible to set up the audi connect key for the phone so that I can use it to turn on the car without the key fob? I saw it in the manual but can't see it in the vehicle setting nor myaudi app. I don't know if this is available only for certain region market.

Given Audi’s track record with the app’s lack of functionality and service downtime, I personally wouldn’t be looking into this feature. Knowing my luck I would end up being locked out of the car.
