RSQ3 RSQ3

Can be done with VCDS afaik. Put the headlights into service mode, adjust them manually and then reset. On my mk5 Golf I just adjusted the height using the screw and had no issues however.

I need someone close by then who has VCDS. To give me a hand haha!

If you have paid some one to do this , They ought to pay a specialist to correct there work, Obviously they are not capable of doing it, If insurance paid tell them your going to complain about there work,

Hi all,

So, it’s not a massive issue. But I’m still having some small issues after getting my car back from the place that carried out all the repair work.

When it first came back, the headlights had been calibrated too low. So the car went back and they raised the calibration. So I thought great, all is fine now. However, over this Christmas period, I’ve been driving quite a lot on unlit country roads. Nearly every single driver flashes me! Thinking that I have my high beam on. It’s because my lights have now been calibrated too high! I’ve only just noticed since driving on these roads.

I really can’t be ***** with having them try and put it right for a third time. Does anyone know if I can get it done using VCDS? Or something like that?

Cheers,
Sam.
Did you get the lights sorted Sam ??

Didn’t go back as I’m really unsure! Should the lights be adaptive ? I still get the odd flash on country roads but only when it’s undulating and the car is up and down if you know what I mean.

I’ve also done this on the Carista dongle. Did it as soon as I had the car, find the bleep noise is far too loud though! Have you done anything else to your car with the OBD eleven? It can only be used on android phones can’t it that?

Ive done folding mirrors on locking, Boot close by key, and bleep on lock/unlock.

Yes only on a android phone , I bought a Samsung S10 to do it, But gave to my daughter As could not get on with it, So bought wife a android notebook for xmas, That works. lol.

Does anybody know whether you can have the discs on these skimmed? I don’t really fancy forking out £550! They’re still okay but just want to know for later on this year when the MOT comes round and worst case scenario, I do have to have new front discs!
Cheers.

Has anyone lowered their RSQ3 and if so, by how much? What sort of price to have them fitted should I be looking at too?
Cheers,
Sam.

Also, does anyone know whether the discs on the RSQ3 can be skimmed? I’ve just taken it to a garage which specialises in this and they’ve just had a quick look and will get back to me later today. They mentioned something about a floating hub and if they have them, they can’t be done. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I doubt it can be done, and really would you want to do it? The wear thickness is engraved into the disc, this must mean it’s not feasible. Reckon you’re going to have to bite the bullet and replace when necessary. I’m not looking forward to it myself, but I barely have a lip after 10.000 miles,so I’m hoping it’s a way off

Why do you doubt it pal? I’ve seen some places can do all types of discs. But this company I went to earlier said it may not be able to be done if they have floating hubs? Do they and can they be removed?

My car has just done 40k. I don’t think the discs have been changed before now. They’re not even that bad but I just wanted to do it for peace of mind as I plan on keeping this car now. There is only a slight lip. I might just get some Ebc yellow stuff pads.

Maybe I should have said,if you can should you? The wear limit is there for a reason. The limit is engraved into the bell of the disc,I guess you could grind it out, again, why would you?

I’m not sure what to do chap. Maybe just change the pads for Ebc ones and see what arises when it comes to MOT time in July.

There are 1mm deep dimples as well as the drilled holes. When the dimples are gone your discs are toast. Dimples=simples.

My car had done 38k when I bought it,there was quite a lip then, but as it was Audi used approved, they were swapped out as part of the deal. They refused, however,to replace the rear discs as they said,”they are only 70% worn,we replace at 80%! To be fair, there’s no lip on them at all worth mentioning,I only asked as the bells had started to corrode and look a bit crappy...worth a go I thought When I took it back for warranty work on the Haldex, the video report they sent me on the rest of the car said the rear discs were 30% worn......go figure, that kind of thing is why I never use main dealers for servicing,I’ve no faith. Anyway,as for your discs,it does sound like they are the originals, but wear limits, dimples, lips or not,if it passes the mot,why worry? I did think of going down the red stuff pad route myself to “preserve” the discs, but as I’d just had new oem discs & pads, why spend another few hundred pounds on pads & fitting? Thought I’d see how they worked out.

Good point chap! The MOT was only done in July last year and had no advisories at all and the car had done like 36k. So I’m only on 40k now so I can’t see them having changed much! I just wanted to do it for peace of mind if you can see where I’m coming from. The lip is only ever so slight. I think it would serve me well just going for the yellow stuff Ebc pads around MOT time and see what comes from the MOT itself.

I think the holes are the ones that don’t go thru the discs,if you can’t see them,I guess they’re flush with the disc face, which would show the discs are on the limit I guess Tbh,when I told the indy who looks after my car bout the wear limit,he just laughed and said,”don’t worry bout that, there will be plenty of life left in em even then”. I can totally see where you are coming from with yours, that’s why I thought of the red stuff pads, but I guess there’s a lot of stuff that’s recommended which isn’t actually needed? If it fails the mot, then that’s different. Let’s be honest, these brakes are like throwing an anchor out the window

I don’t know what to do Haha!?

Hi all,

Before I part chop the car tomorrow evening, I thought it a good idea to advertise a few parts that I will be taking off the car.
As stated before, I have custom made secondary decat pipes available.
Dynamic wing mirror modules.
20mm all round wheel spacers.
Team Heko wind deflectors.
Special exhausts exhaust valve controller with both remotes.
TDI Tuning pedal box.
Cheers,
Sam.

Sorry to see you go - what are you changing it for?
