RSQ3 RSQ3

You can put in a parts request on the forum or do it the old fashioned way and drive to a parts department lol

Managed to sort some wheel nut caps. Also had the secondary cats off the car this morning, and all I can say is, Wow! Sounds absolutely awesome. Main thing it has changed is the pops and bangs on overrun and the upshift cracks are absolutely lethal! Works perfectly now with the valve controller as you can’t even tell it’s been done when it’s closed. Literally cannot get better than a PCW modded system with the secondary cats out. It sounds exactly like the Supersprint system, if not better. Even if that is me being a little biased.

The only down side to everything is that my car has got to go back to the company that repaired it today. The lights haven’t been coded correctly and the auto-levelling isn’t working correctly. They dip and only come up so far when turning the car on. I just hope it’ll be sorted quickly and that they won’t have the car for an age like they did last time!

Yeah sounds better than a local RS3 which lives around the corner from me. I don’t have any videos as I don’t know how to upload them haha! Yeah can’t fault you chap, he’s a genius. Literally no point in even going for aftermarket with what he can do to a standard system.

Is the RSQ3 the same engine as the 8P RS3 or the 8V RS3?

So much is the same now as 'before' even has 5-cylinders, lol. Block material and/or 'hollow crank' and/or 'map' may be different, ish, but what else? Oh yes, a cam box and air inlet box, lol. BHP and Torque curve may me different but some (me) would say that the earlier 'curve' more suitable for everyday UK driving. Still got my/our 2011 8P RS3 version and still no reason to change - other than our 2016 SQ5 gets way more use...

The 8V reference is the chassis by the way and even that's not soooo different from the 8P that 99% of drivers I've sat alongside driving enthusiastically on UK roads could tell anyway, lol :hi: Respect...

So what would you say is the definitive answer haha?

For us, stay with what we have, no reason to change, no reason to spend more £s - satisfied/happy/content, lol... :yahoo:

Maybe go 'electric' one day, if we're still here that is - but keep the RS3 just for the noise!

NICE, OK, but then again, starting to look more and more like an SQ5 :racer:

And you could most probably get a used RS3 and a used SQ5 for the same £s outlay

GOTTA be a NEW car no longer 'me' excites!

Then again my own car history proves that, I guess - having had this 45bvtc for 37-years:

Sprint xx

After 37-years it then transformed in 2011 into a Cornflower blue Audi RS3, of course...

I don't do 'NEW' unless someone else is paying - and them days was a long time ago now...

I like the look of the new RSQ3 - however the 'old' Performance model with 367PS is a tad quicker than the new model with 400PS and more torque - not exactly a compelling argument for change.

It is strange, I'm 62 now and have relentlessly pursued the latest and greatest in cars for many years (crazy in retrospect) but find the current RSQ3 ticks all the boxes - bonkers rapid, fun to drive, easy to live with, fabulous BOSE sound system awesome LED lights, quiet when required (Comfort mode in DS closes the exhaust valve), understated - just about perfect.

The next steed will be an EV - the rate that new EVs come to market and get sold out a year in advance is staggering...the latest being the Ford Mustang E vehicle - feels like VAG are waaay behind the curve....crikey here in UK there is a waiting list for the Hyundai Kona Electric.....a wretched Hyundai!!!

Your just 12 years behind, cosmicblue, I already see the signs, feel your pain, :blownose:

The ASN OAP's RS drivers club awaits... :friends:

Ahh 45bvtc...I know from previous posts you have one or two 'challenges' right now too. On the aches and pains front one of my shooting mates extolled the virtues of Tumeric-Plus - definitely helps!

Being 60+ rocks one just sees life as it is without having any concern for those that don't.:icon thumright: My only concern is that I no longer find Victor Meldrew funny...he's just bang-on.

Thanking you cosmicblue but we have been there and/or therabouts trying anything and everything, for 2-years and more; but, when push-comes-to-shove and the alternatives ain't working ya just gotta follow the oncologists directions! So she'll be takin' 5-days of radiotherapy in a weeks time; still fighting, still laughing (when the chemo side effects allow) an' all... :racer:

GO Victor, 'tall makes sense now :thumbs up:

45bvtc just noticed @ post above , my brothers just had the same awful treatment at Jimmys in Leeds It worked very well, Hope it does the same with your wife.

:hi:alanyork!

Not until you get 'involved' / 'connected' directly to this cancer issue do you fully realise how many are affected: 100% of anything and everything to Stafford County hospital chemotherapy nurses/department, and as of yesterday the A&E department staff again/too, is all I can say; just an amazing group of wonderful people!

Like I say, not till you get it full-face x-days a week do you truly get it! :friends:

That said, what a wonderful ambulance an Audi SQ5 is... :racer:

It’s just a software update isn’t it? That’s what mine was. They said they’d only need it for an hour or so. I had it done when the work was carried out on my car after he accident.

Yes - the workshop language terminology is aligned with the FIFO principle (nothing to do with inventory management).

Bit of fun yesterday, 3 of us yesterday SQ5 plus, Merc 65S and me RSQ3 performance coming from Leeds to York, We are driving to near the speed limit, (mostly) This 19 plate 3L diesel range rover thought he would overtake the 3 of us on a solid double white line , ?? he did but had to brake very hard as he came to a 20 mph speed limit Next was fun I got next to him at a junction , he was in the lane to go right, Me to go straight on, I sensed he was going straight on to, Me first SQ5 2nd then the merc, ?? He tried to beat us !!! FOOL The 3 of us beat him in a line, Next time we saw him he under took the 3 of us in a bus lane !!!! WHY ????

You can take comfort that the 19 plate RR will absolutely have something that's not working/rattling and the driver wishes he'd bought an Audi...

I know , Ive had one , for 9 weeks, 3 of them back at the dealer, 6 weeks to get my money back,

Hi all,

So, it’s not a massive issue. But I’m still having some small issues after getting my car back from the place that carried out all the repair work.

When it first came back, the headlights had been calibrated too low. So the car went back and they raised the calibration. So I thought great, all is fine now. However, over this Christmas period, I’ve been driving quite a lot on unlit country roads. Nearly every single driver flashes me! Thinking that I have my high beam on. It’s because my lights have now been calibrated too high! I’ve only just noticed since driving on these roads.

I really can’t be ***** with having them try and put it right for a third time. Does anyone know if I can get it done using VCDS? Or something like that?

Cheers,
Sam.

You will need an Audi dealer or decent independent Sam - some body repair businesses don't have access to the Audi training content. You may have to get a quote and then ask the bodyshop if they will pay.

So definitely can’t be done by vcds or anything alike?

Looks like it will be going back for a third time!! So annoying. I should have them arrange to sort it with a local Audi dealer for me! It’s their wrong doing so they must sort it! I shouldn’t have to pay a penny!!
