Hey dudes, drove home today and noticed my car was running at roughly 78-80 degrees which is about 12 degrees lower than usual. When the radio was muted I could hear the cooling fans from inside the cabin.

The drive was about 4 hours ~ 110 miles so car should have reached normal operating temperature, I still have 3 years warranty left and it’s an S4 B9.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it likely to be a warranty job?

any advice appreciated.

I didn't get any start stop faults when my thermostat went. It began with weird temp readings and fan staying on all the time and eventually I got a check engine light.

Apparently leaving the fan on full is the ECUs way of protecting the engine when it's getting inconsistent temperature data.

Thanks, it’s very strange! Definitely taking it to the dealers on Monday. Just hope no damage will be done to the engine when I do my return 110miles on Sunday.

Hopped in the car today and the problem seems to have resolved itself‍♂️

The thermostat housing etc is faulty. Known fault . Mine did same and all replaced under warranty
