Fault code for defective heated wing mirror

Is there an error code for a defective heated wing mirror? Near side one doesn’t seem to be working (only one chance to test it so far), although it auto dims ok.
Tonight is the first almost frost I’ve been out in to see it not working. Lol.

You might need to remove mirror and check the connector is connect , or maybe damaged , cant mind a fault code for it in Vcds

when mine was broken, it showed on obd, bought new heated mirror and deleted the error, if you dont want to buy new one, you can try to remove it, clean connectors both and spray it first with contact spray and after its dried spray some WD40

In regard to VCDS codes. I get a fault error code 00944 or 00943 in vcds on the Door electronics when there is an issue with my heated mirrors.

Did u try to delete the code and then to check if it shows ?
When my drivers heated mirror died , when i replaced it i used obd 11 deleted the code and voila
Btw if you have perhaps for some reason removed the door panel maybe you forgot to plug the connector

Code was persistent after trying to delete them without replacing the mirrors.
Once replaced I had no issues deleting the codes. This was years ago, been fine ever since.

More importantly VCDS codes do exist when there is a fault with the heated mirrors.

Well thats normal I mean, error code will always be back unless you replace faulty part

If I understood you correctly, my advice is whenever you replace parts like that spray contact spray and then wd 40 since old parts over time tend to stuck

Great advice. Before I replaced the mirror I saw the spade connectors were indeed very crusty.
Sandpaper and IPA spray fixed that.

Mirror definitely the issue for me at the time though.

Aftermarket mirrors were definitively varied in quality. The first set I got were utter *****. Got a second aftermarket set which lasted a month.
Finally not skimping out and fitted some OEM ones which have been perfect since. Should have gone OEM to begin with,

Sorry to hear after bad experience about aftermarket mirror, I have purchased locally it was around 15 euros, perfect fit

My advice is you only get what you pay for so always but OEM costs a little more but on most things you have a 2yr warranty
