So I’ve upgraded my disc and ds2500 pads I was advised to do 10-15 hard stops from 75-80mph to about 50mph I’ve done this but now my brakes developed squeaking should I follow the above procedure again? Or what’s people’s recommendations thanks

I wouldn't be doing any hard stops with new brakes.

When I had my front revo discs and Ferodo pads fitted, the paperwork said:

From 60 mph, use 10%-20% braking force to get to 20mph - do not come to a stop.
Immediately, get back upto 60 mph and repeat above using 30% braking force to get to 20mph - do not come to a stop.
Repeat above using more and more braking force braking force until you get to 100% but don't come to a stop.

Drive car for 5 mins or so to cool brakes ideally without using brakes and don't hold brake pedal if you have come to a stop.

Repeat all the above once more.
If discs are new, and above is done correctly, they might show a slight blue colour which is normal.

Hardest thing is finding a decent quiet road to do all this.

Maybe follow the manufacturer's procedure again.

But if it's a more track/fast road setup you are running sadly squealing is can be a downside to the setup. I've had the same issues with all my cars that have had a track based pad fitted.

I get squealing on my standard brake setup on my RS3.

Think I’m going to try again

also when braking from speed I get a humming noise I’ve read these are characteristics of having grooved disc can anyone confirm?

Have you noticed this different from the stock setup?

In triple figures when slowing quite quickly, especially after 2/3 of those I get the humming I am guessing you are describing... even my girlfriend picked up on it.

When I get mine done I was going to go for grooved.

Me too, some days it’s ok but next day can be horrendous?

Completely better than stock setup worth every penny I’d definitely recommend it
When I do brake hard from speed get the humming all the time

When I changed to Reylands & 2500 pads the Ferodo bedding in procedure wasn’t enough so I went out and gave them some abuse on a quiet stretch of M/way.
4 times up / down the same stretch followed by a cooling down run and they were silent the following day.

10 months on and I only get the slightest squeak now and again, but only if I’ve not done any hard braking.

Really happy with the set up.
