Evening all,
About 3 weeks ago, I sold my BE A4. It was a 2011 2.0L TDI B8 with 65k on the clock. I bought the car 4 years ago after getting a really good deal on it at Taunton Audi. About 2 years into owning the car something began to feel off. I realised that I didn’t like the car as much as I had led myself to believe when I bought it. It felt like something was missing but due to financial constraints I couldn’t afford to get something else. A few months ago, I was given the possibility of being able to get an A5. I’ve loved the A5 ever since they came out and wish I had bought one when I got my A4.

This was my A4 at AITP 9

Last Sunday I Picked up my new to me 2013 Daytona Grey A5 Sportback with 90k on the clock. It was a 1 owner car prior to me buying it. Even though they’re very similar cars to sit in, the A5 feels like everything the A4 wasn’t. It brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. The previous owner put what seems like almost every option on the car.
The spec sheet reads as follows

Black Edition 3.0 TDI multironic 204ps
(The transmission fluid was changed at 78k)
Daytona Grey
Full leather interior
Adaptive headlights
Audi drive select
Audi parking system advanced
Audi side assist and active lane assist
Audi hill hold assist
Auto dimming mirror
Convenience package (not sure what it consists of)
Electric door mirrors with auto dimming
Heated front seats
High beam assist
Interior light pack
Dynamic steering
Tech pack - advanced
Tech pack - high
Adaptive headlights
Privacy glass
Multi function flat bottom steering wheel (this is one of my favourite things on the car)
Front sport seats
Sports suspension
Bang & Olufsen sound system
DAB radio
Sat nav

I gave it a good clean today. It’s going to get a full machine polish in a couple of weeks will hopefully bring it up really well which I’m looking forward to.

I have a few plans for the car which are
Maxton Front splitter
Maxton Boot spoiler
RS5 style Grille
Interior LED upgrade
Front Fog upgrade
All 4 wheels need a refurb so I’m deciding whether to get the refurbed or get a new set.

I changed the puddle lights to these earlier. Not sure if they’re to everyone’s taste but I really like them.

So after a few weeks of ownership I’ve made a few changes this evening. I ordered both the front splitter and boot spoiler on Black Friday. With it being 20% off everything I thought it would be rude not to. I also changed the front fog lights and the reverse lights at the same time.

New reverse lights and boot spoiler installed.

I definitely feel I need a new set of wheels to set the car off, the rotors have seen better days and are rather common at the moment IMO.

Will hopefully be able to give it a clean at the weekend, weather permitting.

Had my car in for a bumper respray after I noticed that the car look like it had a smart repair and the colour match was horrendous, it looked more blue than Daytona grey. It now looks a lot better which I’m very happy with. Fast forward today and I finally got my RS5 grill fitted after having it sitting in my kitchen for 6 weeks. It was a rather stressful task but it got done and was definitely worth the effort in my opinion.

My next thing to purchase was at set of wheels but seeing as they won’t be back in stock for approximately another 6 weeks I decided to get the Maxton side skirts and rear bumper skirts which will be here Monday and hopefully fitted some time next week.

Need to get my grill on...had it for months....how long did it take you to do? Any tips? What wheels you got

It took me and friend nearly 4 hours, best advice I can give you is take your time and don’t rush. We did have to cut a few bits to get the fit nice. Fortunately for me, my friend knew what he was doing which was of great help.

The wheels I want are MAM Felgen RS3’s which look like this

These however aren’t in stock in this finish anywhere in the desired size I want. A company called GMP Italia do a very similar rim in similar finish which I’m considering as an alternative.
