Just wanted to give those who have not signed up a heads up as to the brilliance of this service. Its complimentary to Audi owners.

I signed up after i had an accident - Its completely free.

Mr car was hit from when parked and i contacted Audi Ensurance. The 3rd party insurer tried to get me to go a local repair shop which has a terrible reputation and i refused. Audi ensurance took over and arranged for me to take my car to an approved audi repair shop. They got the 3rd party to admit fault and from there on in i had a faultless experience.

Dropped my car off to be repaired and had a phone call to say that a new Porsche Cayman S was waiting for me as a courtesy car whilst repairs took place.

Picked up my s4 this morning and the repair was immaculate. Excellent service and no pesky phone calls asking if i have been involved in an accident from other claims handlers

no excess to pay and i got to drive a Porsche for a few days

Thanks i have activated mine just now, wanted to ask the sos button in the car or the other buttons next to them, once pressed would a call be made to Audi Ensurance or is that something else?

Speechless.

I'm actually insured by Audi and wasn't aware of this. How do we sign up?

The fact that they (Audi Ensurance) supplied a car is a step forward because it used to be the case that there was no hire car and one's own insurer wouldn't provide if it wasn't in their approved bodyshop so you were left without transport.

Oh you know my memory is gormless by now haha.

I don't see this Porsche courtesy being commonplace, however

I think this is good when it's not your fault and they claim all these costs at an exceptional rate from the other insurer.

BMW do the same thing and it's great. I noticed that they were charging the other insurance company £500 a day for the 5 series I had as a courtesy car!

I've signed up to it, not had to use it yet & hopefully never will but good to know it works when required.

I've used them in the past when a plonker drove into my A7, the hire car was from a 3rd party supplier in my case and Audi Ensurance in essence act as a claims handler. I had to sign a letter for them stating that my standard of car was needed to show my statute within my business and I ended up initially with an A6 and then with an A8 after I moaned about being in a basic A6 from an A7 Black Edition.

As above, they got the repair done in an approved Audi repairer and in my case also arrange money for replacing the car seats as they suggest they are replaced following an accident.

All in all a very good experience with them. I did see the hire car bill though *ouch*

Sounds good. I usually take the optional legal cover with my insurance at £20 -£25 extra, as I used it once and was glad that I paid for it. If I take Ensurance, presumably this means that I can drop legal cover with my main insurer?

completely agree, and reason for the high charges is to pay for their time/effort/resource :)

i dread to think what the hire charges were on the Cayman i had for 4 days.

Haha, I bed. Would be north of the £500 quoted for others I would have thought

Have signed up so pleased I saw this post did not know this was available, hope never to use it but great to have

Thanks for posting, i wasn't aware of this so have just signed up. At least if i have an accident Audi can't complain about a poor repair if they are arranging it :)

Just starting the process of having to use Ensurance and I can't help thinking this could get expensive for someone.

Sorry about offensive lack of shine @cuke2u

Parked in the street near my office. I went out yesterday afternoon and saw a note on the windscreen saying "sorry, backed into you" with just a phone number. I looked at the bumper and saw a small scuff (to be honest, I think that's just a smudge in the dirt) and thought "why bother leaving a note?".

Then I walked around to the drivers side and saw this! The guy was very apologetic and had apparently backed out of the drive where there's a dentist opposite and his rear sensors made no sound. Not a good advert for Range Rover.

Thanks for reminding me about this, I think I did sign up for it for a different vehicle in the past, but having just changed (impulse buy) I have signed up again. Worth saving the contact details and policy number in your phone just in case the unfortunate happens...

A honest driver, much a rarity these days...

Just activated this for my 8P S3, never realised this was a thing until now and especially didn’t think they’d accept a 10 year old car onto it!

I got my renewal email yesterday and renewed for a further three years.

Yeah, the hire cars they put you in cost the insurance companies a fortune for a start!

Great reminder.
Just signed up. Hopefully won’t need it though.

Sadly not impressed so far. I had a call from Performance Car Specialists about the loan car, but they didn't want to talk further without the repair being booked. Then, 2 days after notifying Ensurance, a call from their repairer who wanted to book me in for the 8th......of January!

On Saturday, I had a text from my insurer asking why I'd not notified them of the accident. When I called, it turns out we're both insured with LV and as my insurer, they'd informed themselves via the 3rd party reporting the accident. The Ensurance info says they deal with the insurers on your behalf.

By Sunday, 5 days after notifying Ensurance, they still hadn't contacted either insurer, just the repairer (based on the accident details I'd given them I assume) and the replacement car company.

I then had a call from LV, as 3rd party insurer, confirming they are dealing with the claim as a 3rd party fault basis (so doesn't go through my insurance) and that I'd get a similar loan car.

I sent an email to Ensurance asking them to forget the claim. Maybe this claims management thing works well for some, but I'm just seeing it as something that increases the cost of a claim, so we're all subsidising it with higher premiums.

I used them when someone drove in to my A7 and they were great, my car was totally of of the road though and I agree, the cost of the accident against the insurance is huge.

Unfortunately, even when dealt with as 3rd party fault, its still an accident and still makes your premium shoot up, some idiot in insurance thinks that even when you have no chance to avoid an accident it still means you are more likely to have another.....

I used them against the 3rd party insurance when I had my accident and the loan car cost was a fortune on the claim

I started a claim using Ensurance in the summer for a no fault incident. Too many different people giving different information or asking the same questions over and over. Cancelled their involvement and went straight to LV. Courtesy C class a few hours later and a perfect repair in just over a week. No effect on the no-claims or premium.

Just activated Audi Ensurance for my new Audi A6 (C8).

Can someone confirm Audi Ensurance will still provide a free courtesy car even if you haven't got one included with your regular insurance policy? ( I haven't)

Cheers
