My insurance company (not sure if I’m allowed to mention names) have sent me my renewal and it’s over doubled! No accidents or claims etc! How can they justify such a large premium increase! You would think they would look after loyal customers. I’ve been with them 6 years with 2 vehicles!
 
I was once told by my insurance that mine was going up because someone in my area with the same model had an accident :wtf:

How they work it out is beyond me. Fair enough if there is a small increase due to factors such as accident rate, inflation or however they justify it. But to over double my premium is an absolute joke
 
The insurance industry never rewards loyal customers, claim free or not.
The only time I’ve ever gotten a reduction in premiums is when I could show a cheaper quote elsewhere and intentions to switch insurance.
Doubling your premium without a claim is , as already said, legalised theft.

Auto renew is always a generic quote, but I have found my recent renewal quotes more reasonable in the last couple of years.

It just really depends on who you are insured with?

Yeah, mine's just gone up £30 / year which is less than I expected for an auto renew quote
 
Always negotiate over the phone when renewing any insurance, I got 20% off my car insurance by simply saying I had received a cheaper quote else where. Broker was only too happy to help. Elephant Insurance.

My renewal shocking
 
They even phoned me to see if I’d like to renew it managed to get it for less than last year somewhere else
 
They take advantage of the fact that you are completely dependent on them. But they are bit***s;)

You have to keep swapping around with car insurance, once you have been with company A for a couple of years it will suddenly jump up, mine went back up to £500+ with 11yrs ncb, rang a line that was direct and it dropped to under £230 so only paying £23 pm :smug:
 
Out of interest Tj how much did you manage to scrub off that ridiculous quote?!
 
ahh well it's better than last year and not over £5k so all good :grin:
 
Old thread but I've gotta blow off some steam. So I had my renewal through from Admiral on my 2017 RS3 FL Stage 2 quoting me £1,231.99 and last year it was £794.55. I've had a shop around the usual comparison sites best I was initially getting was £962.59, direct line couldn't give me a quote AIB, Chris Knott & Adrian Flux said they couldn't compete. Anyway I went back to the comparison sites and added the mother as named driver (I thought with her being a nurse it might help) and managed to get it down to £824.
I'm suprised at Chris Knott & Adrian Flux being as the pride themselves on insuring modified cars..
 
Mine has gone up by about 60% and asking around this is about right. Bring back lockdown, lol.

Admiral came back to me twice when they knew I'd found it cheaper but they still couldn't compete with LV.

It may be worth contacting other insurance companies that can offer more competitive rates in your particular situation.
