I know there's a few threads on here about fitting lowering springs but I'm struggling to find any pictures of a sportback with 18s without magride.

The car doesn't sit that high really currently - front and back are basically the same - from floor to wheel arch is 26"/ 66ish cm.

Been looking at the Eibach pro kit which is 10mm drop, doesn't sound much to be worth the money. But sportline kit which is 20-25mm at the front and 15-20mm at the rear possibly sounds possibly too much lol.

Anyone got this setup with either pros or sportlines? I'm leaning towards pros but would be dissapointed if it doesn't look much difference after but I'd be screaming if sportlines make it too low lol, also a bit concerned about the splitter.

I’ve been looking at this as well along with a white line rear anti roll bar. Like you I was thinking is 10mm worth it.
From mates with other cars they feel the pro kit is good/better in the sense that it is more comfortable and easier to live with day to day where as the sport line kit is a little harsh for daily.
If your goal is to go low then the sport line kit and if you value your comfort then pro kit.
I’ve not checked what the spring rates are like for the s3 between the pro and sport line so it might not apply to the s3.

@Deezer-D looks good with the spacers, the drop looks not a whole lot different than mine imo, i suppose though at 1cm .. well yeah. I like the look though :) just don't know if worth it then..

@AlS3BE I have no issues with comfort with stock springs at least, but my goal isn't "to go low" as such. Need something in the middle of pro and sportline .. like a 15mm drop all round or something! As I said for the S3 springs at least: pro is 10mm front/back and sportline is 20-25mm at the front and 15-20mm rear

Seems like H&R do a 15mm drop all round. Hmm

I was happy with the drop and the ride height with the Pro Kit, Sportline would have been too much for me. From what I’ve read the H&R give a harsh ride - I have no personal experience of H&Rs though.

Yeah I've seen a few comments like that.. though it also seems like there were some lower H&R springs than the 15 ones... I'm very undecided still. I think it will be pro kit though.. I like my steak medium rare, but i'd much rather have it rarer than more well done! I'd rather be higher than too low and it becomes an issue.

My street has speed bumps the whole length so I wanted a drop that wouldn’t catch on them. I’ve ran cars with coilovers in the past and I’m just too old to be weaving about the place now!

I had experience with the B8 shocks on my old 8PA. I used them 2 months and then traded for the B4. The B8 were great shocks but their rebound rate was too high and it jerked the car back into it's normal position too fast for my guts to like it. They were amazing on good roads or at high speeds but not normal DD.

Then I changed the car to a 2019 8V sportback. I've been on the Eibach Pro springs with the stock sports shocks for two or three weeks. Got alignment done already. The ride quality is better than I had it on the 8P on the Pros with the B4 shocks and even better than with the B8s. I'd call it very smooth and compliant. If sportlines or other springs offered the same comfort, I would choose them for better stance, but I they don't so I stick to the Pros.

P.S. I'm on the stock 18" wheels.

What did you go for in the end? I
got a sportsback s3 and decided on eibach as heard too many bad stories of the racingline springs and h&r. However can't decide between sport lines and pro kit for me.

I went for Sportline, and pondered for months whether to go Pro or sport. Even bought a set of each - subsequently selling the pro's.
Harshness of ride = almost as standard S3 springs on normal roads, firmer but not Harsher if that makes sense, put it this way my missus hates modified cars and currently 8 months pregnant, She couldn't tell the difference with the new springs plus I have 19s with 35 profile tyres and no mag ride.

In reflection I personally would have been disappointed with Pro's but not to say anyone else would be as others with Pros have also been very pleased. just don't assume the sportlines are "too much"

Only worry I have with sport lines is I have a few big speedbumps that I can't avoid going over. Do you know your front clearance by any chance or fancy measuring it. Standard is 160mm on a s3 I believe so must be around 130/140mm at a guess.

Cheers, got a multi storey car park at work that could be a issue as the exit down the ramp has a speed bump just as it meets the flat floor. Stupid placement for a speed bump. Will have to see how far I'm off scraping it currently with front bumper.

I went with the pro kit and tbh regretted doing it as can hardly see a difference.

Eibach Pro, no mag ride, stock dampers, 225/40/18x8 ET42 + 5mm spacers on the front and 8mm spacers on the back.
