Facelift Audi A3 Black Edition - Glacier White or Daytona Grey - aargh!

Yep I agree I had front sensors put on mine by the dealers...They are sound only..Have always wondered how easy to get the park assist option to be retrofitted ie cost ??
I had this on my c class and only used it when I first got the car to experience it. It’s not worth paying extra for imo

Not an A3 but gives you an idea of Daytona and black...

Both great colours don't think you'll go wrong with either.

Nice plug for daytona....saw you pass me by at the technology roundabout off the expressway....a few months ago....driving the car as if where stolen.....

That’s how I drive everywhere unless the wife and kids are in the car!

Got to say this is the best looking Audi I have seen on this forum. Stunning.

The colour is great also! My favorite.

I had a glacier white S3 black edition with panoramic roof in June that I ended up rejecting. It looked very nice but it seemed to attract a lot of attention (which I didn't like). The glacier white itself was a nice colour but with the black edition bits etc, i always thought it looked a bit boy racer which wasn't for me at 48. I would prefer the grey so that it was a bit less in your face. It's all personal preference

I came from a white Mercedes c class and would definitely have white again as I love detailing and it looked great but I wouldn't have my s3 in white with black edition

Can I ask you about rejection? You were able to reject just on the basis of colour? I guess that must have been within a relatively short period and you would have a financial hit?

Hi of course you can ask. No i didn't reject because of colour. I rejected it because of the state of the paintwork that lookers thought was acceptable for a car 2 to 3 , months old and after owning the white with black, I thought it was too in your face. My comment was that the white with all of the black accents, plus pano roof, plus flashy black edition wheels made it look boy racer. They had been very fussy about my part ex (white glossy paint, immaculate merc 18 reg, less than 5k miles, car including alloys were unmarked). I'm into detailing and it didn't have a mark on it. They even asked for photos. I even gave them the reassurance that if my car wasn't as good as I'd described when they saw it in the flesh, they could lower the price of my part ex. On seeing it he said mine was immaculate. I thought I was very fair. I met the salesman at a different site and he was hunting around for a desk, rushing me, it was raining so more rush, no time to look at it properly but I thought they had been so fussy in my part ex being immaculate, I thought their car would at least be prepared for sale. First wash the day after collection. Scuufs, scratches in several places. I visited a body shop for written quote. It needed nearly £2,000 worth of paint and that wasn't every scratch. I rang lookers. The used car sales manager was horrendous. *****, talked to me like sh##. He said I couldn't reject etc. I said Audi uk said I can (they were great). He said yeah I'll deal with Audi Uk when I hear from them (threatening as if he was used to bluffing audi uk). Audi Uk told the General manager to contact me with offer of rejection. They wouldn't give me my merc back but gave me full invoice price. One of the things the gen manager said was 'most of the cars in our pitch have had paint'. Perhaps if mine had been prepared for sale, all that wouldn't have had to happen. It even had crisps under the seats. They couldn't even be bothered to vacuum it. To me, they thought its a woman, fob her off with it. It was a 3 month old s3 with around 2,000 miles on. They even said when you get the log book don't tell dvla you owned it for (it was probably going on for 2 month). Dvla said that was against the law even though it went back. Audi Uk were wonderful and gave me the confidence to buy another Audi. I'm 48 and have bought around 30 cars now and it was the worst experience of any purchase. My comments to you though were just that it looked a bit boy racer and it seemed to attract the idiots.

Thank you for explaining - that sounds horrendous but at least it’s good that Audi UK had your back. I was asking about rejection as I wanted to be informed about options in the event that the engine has the kangaroo problems. I hope that’s a needless worry!

(and I’m hoping my pedestrian A3 doesn’t get the same negative attention that your S3 did!)

I'm sure you will love it. I would probably still have it if there hadn't been issues but yes, Audi uk were fantastic. They couldn't have been better. I'm changing again next week (nothing to do with the car but I want another Mercedes estate.
Good luck with your car. Enjoy it
I think rejection is quite rare. It was for me anyway. I've bought all sorts of brands and ages (around 30) but never had to reject until then.

Quote for fitting the sensors was £££ so I reckon this will be a great alternative :tearsofjoy:
Some like DJAlix on this forum can retrofit front sensors and do the coding so you get the visual display for front and rear if you're really wanting.
