When I performed my single-DIN to double-DIN stereo install (here), I had to replace the CCU because of a size difference due to position change (it sits lower on the panel). The unit I bought was from a US seller, but I don't know where they originally sourced the part. Upon first use, the unit of measure displayed Celsius by default. I had to go into the settings menu on the instrument cluster computer display and change the units there to Fahrenheit. No problem, worked like a charm.
However, just the other day, I was out doing errands and when I got back into my car & turned it on, the temperature was showing Celsius data. WTH? I was able to switch back to Fahrenheit, but... in all my years of owning my car (12 now), I've never encountered this. A units of measure change seemingly made arbitrarily.
So my question is... when Audi manufactured these devices, were they made with default units of measure based upon the regional market? Or... is there some special "method" for switching the units of measure on the controls that I somehow inadvertently made? I can't figure out how this happened.
