Does the RSQ3 use the same engine and DQ500 box as a RS3/TTRS.

Hi, I am considering using a 2.5TSI engine and running gear for a conversion and have been looking at RS3's and TTRS's being broken.
I was just wondering do the early RSQ3's use the same engine and DQ500 DSG box?.
Even though the RSQ3 has lower power from the factory it looks like they may share the same engine as tuners are claiming the same power when mapped as a mapped RS3 etc.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What vehicle would you be looking to put the 2.5l engine and running gear ?

Gen1 RSQ3 uses the CEPA engine which is the same as the gen 1 rs3 and gen 1 TTRS I believe. These engines are different to the gen2 and gen2.1 facelift and the gearbox’s would be slightly different I imagine.
 
I’m interested too find out this retrofit you are undertaking, spill the beans :sunglasses:

They both use the 0BH gear box just slightly different part numbers.
Whether the outside of the box matches up with both chassis is another question though as there could be mounting differences.

It will be going in a VW T5.

but I believe the Transporter uses a different bellhousing on their DQ500 gearboxes, because of the more tilted install in the engine bay?
 
It will be going in a VW T5.

I own a caddy, on one of the other forums I’m on someone I believe retrofitted this engine in there caddy, fantastic modification if I say so myself
 
Thanks for your replys, I ended up buying a complete RSQ3 to use as a donor.
However there are lots of differences to the T5, DQ500 box on the T5 angles the engine forward and the gearbox mounts on the end and not on the top like the RS box.
Also the transfer box and rear Haldex diff are different as well.
Are the RS transfer boxes and diffs strong? as they are smaller compared to the ones fitted to the T5's.
