Hi there audi a4 b7 2.0 tdi 140 bhp..Starting to get lazy first turn of the key..spins over fast and fine then fires a bit rough but when starts it's fine.. the rest of the day runs like clockwork, no misfired no lack of power etc..once started once will start all day.
I have changed tandem pump , new Bosch glow plugs, new coolant sensor (TPS) and placed a non return valve online between filter and tandem pump , however still a pain to crank first thing....Any ideas? Thanks in advance

For anyone else that has this, I have changed lots of things to eliminate this issue and I believe it was the "T" piece that fits into the fuel filter. I bought a new one from a well known online auction site which came with new o rings and the car is currently starting great! Was about 8 quid. Top tip - place some vaseline around the o rings before pushing back in the top of the filter, as this stops them twisting and provides a better seal. It appeared I had air leaking in overnight and causing diesel to run back to tank... hope this helps someone as a cheap fix rather than spending the amount I have

Thanks for your feedback! My B6 1.9 PD130 I think is the same as yours was. I’ve fitted a new battery and glow plugs, it has plenty of power turning over just has a ‘stutter’ half way through start up on some mornings.

Do you have a link to the T piece you bought please? Will find the equivalent for mine if it’s not compatible, once I know what I’m looking for.

Hi @guyzza75 Any link please?

One of mine is giving this sort of issue and would like to rule it out

Thanks
