Yes agreed, as much as I take the CarWow reviews with a pinch of salt the 1/4 mile times seem about 0.5 secs off the pre OPF models.
As others have said, if you’re going down the tuning route then the OPF can be removed, there are companies already offering this which would help bring it back to those previous times I’m sure!

Why does it seem to be launching slower than the pre GPF cars? The TTRS was slow to launch as tested by carwow too. Have Audi changed the launch mode?

No idea, when I tried a launch for the first time the other night it seemed to get away pretty quick, in the video it looks very slow?
As some have recorded times of 3.7/3.8 I’m still not convinced these CarWow tests are doing it justice but then again I only managed 4.2 albeit not in ideal conditions but seems consistent with the CarWow timings.
Surely if you’re achieving 3.7 0-60 then the 1/4 mile would be in the low 12’s, I’ve seen dragy times where the 100-200kph are the same as the pre OPF so it really does look like it’s coming down to that launch as once it’s off the performance is very similar, maybe launch is softer and just harder to achieve those lower times?
Is it not to do with the gpf cars only being able to rev to 3000 when stationary think I saw this on some YouTube videos and it seemed to effect the launch mode, bogged down, where as before it holds at 4000 on launch........might have imagined it all though
Doesn't the GPF effect power in some way too? That's why the S3/Golf R went back down to 300bhp in their GPF models?

But the power output for the OPF model has remained the same at 400psi?
I think this is down to the initial launch which doesn’t seem as quick off the line, from what I’ve read all other performance is the same/similar once it’s away including the 100-200kph.
As has been mentioned many times now a 0-60 of 3.6/3.7 has been achieved in the OPF models from members on this forum but it does seem the launch is slightly softer?
All these people obsessing over 3.this 4.that.

I agree. Although I do worry with the direction Audi seem to be taking with their performance cars and the impact the damned new regulations are having.All these people obsessing over 3.this 4.that.

Yep, main reason I didn’t consider the new S4 from my B9 S4 as 1. It’s a dirty diesel and 2. Those god awful fake exhaust tips!
Thankfully they’re still offering the glorious 5 cylinder with some tweaking to abide by EU regs...still an awesome motor which I’m happy to have swooped for the S4

There must have been some tweaking to get it to the same power output or it could be because the older RS3's actually delivered more than 400psi stock. Just like how the new BMW Supra has like 40-50 bhp more than it should stock.
