TTE340 Upgrade Turbocharger

Introducing our TTE340 performance turbocharger for the 1.8T. Offering 340PS and more with correct hardware & software, near Plug & Play Upgrade with fantastic response and OEM reliability. OEM+

Engineered & Enhanced

TTE340 is a evolution from our proven TTE300 and is based on a brand new Genuine BorgWarner K04 turbocharger, that we dismantle and set about upgrading as Turbo Engineers.
To produce a TTE340 K04 upgrade turbocharger we use a much larger BorgWarner 2283 billet compressor wheel, chosen because it is highly efficient and light in weight for fast response. This compressor also features BorgWarner Extended tip technology giving a compressor map that's very wide, creating extremely high flow for comparative size. We CNC Re-Profile the compressor cover in house to a optimized tight tolerance and finish to ensure maximum compressor efficiency is given.

The intake to the compressor wheel is a CNC milled billet piece with 58MM dia opening this gives a smooth transition from the intake pipe work to the larger compressor to lower turbulence and maximize velocity. The boost discharge outlet is also ported to again smooth the transition to the boost pipework to reduce turbulence.

Attention is given to increase the standard exhaust port size(40mm Dia approx) We CNC mill, porting the turbine housing exhaust and throat and entry size to approx 48mm diameter for maximum flow from a upgrade manifold and so improving efficiency to the bigger turbine used.

We CNC re-profile the exhaust turbine housing to optimized profile and gap to take a larger K04 turbine and shaft we use on this stage, this turbine is a Genuine BorgWarner item. We also give the turbine special curved clip of a specific amount. The clipping is a TTE grinding process to the turbine blade tips, curved to alleviate stress from process. Clipping reduces blade area, increasing gas flow and so reducing back pressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures, allowing safer higher boost level's. This process also gives a secondary advantage of removing some material, lightening the turbine thus reducing rotational mass, improving moment of inertia.

Special profile 360 deg high performance BorgWarner motorsport journal bearing is fitted, to remain durable at higher loads with no loss in transient response. Actuator used is uprated sprung Genuine BorgWarner unit, fitted with our reinforced stainless steel clamps and hardware for trouble free operation. This also can be modified and set to customer needs and specifications if required.

Equilibrium

Precisely balancing our turbochargers is a key critical factor to become a TTE upgrade unit as longevity and performance are paramount. Good balance improves acoustics also. Subsequent great care is taken with all TTE turbochargers to achieving our balance standards. Firstly parts are balanced at slow speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on application at up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate equilibrium, to a standard far higher than OEM. Each turbocharger is supplied with serial numbered balance test result document.

Nice spec, what is the internal diameter of the compressor inlet and wastegate hole.
Price is out of reach of most of us though.

Thanks. The inlet tapers from approximate 58mm to 47mm. Price is due to Genuine components and high quality/time invested. Cheaper maybe option is to maybe have us recon/upgrade your used K04 to spec. But really the TTE300 sells like hot cakes so is a market, just is for higher end budgets I suppose.

Waste gate port 25.1mm

That's a sexy wee power graph with a torque building at the same rate as a stock k04 turbo in the early stages of the rev range and then holding torque longer in the rev range and making more power. Often times the hybrids fall down in the early part of the rev range but not this one.

I wonder though about the top end and how it makes power out to 7500rpm. Two of them tail off sharply before 7000rpm but the last one goes out nicely to 7250rpm. Be nice to see one right out to 7500rpm to be sure but looks like it could do 300/320bhp at 7500rpm.

Hi @TTE Si If that's the max hp/torque (safe for stock engine), should it be better to buy the TTE300? or the TTE340 will be nice to keep the boost low?

Im not sure that is the max safe tbh. Ive seen higher but a bigger turbo at lower boost will for the same numbers will always be the safer option
