Sorry for a boring one but this is odd.
The wiper blades always sit a bit high when resting or off completely.
Any ideas please or this normal?
Thanks Mark.

Mark, I realise you posted a while ago but I’ve developed this problem as well. Your picture shows the wiper at the same rest position as mine. Did you get it fixed? I think the grooves inside the wiper arm have worn out & the spindle doesn’t grip it enough. When the wiper arm gets to the closest point at the A-pillar, the blade hits the A-pillar. Unless you had a better method to fix it, I was going to cut new grooves in the arm but that might be a bit difficult.

Yeah, I did that but the grooves in the wiper arm are too worn to stay in place so the arm keeps moving. Will either try recutting the grooves or replace it.

How much torque are you doing the nuts up with?
Once tight it becomes an interference fit, sort of, should not slip imo.

I didn’t get a torque wrench on it but it was pretty much hanging off the wrench I used. I’ve got the Bentley manual so can check the torque but I’m sure I’ve given it much more than that. I’ve stripped both arms down, cleaned out the grooves & threads on the spindles & the grooves on the arms (what was left of them). Yeah, I see that it should fit like that. Going to try re-seating the driver’s side & see if it’ll hold. Not sure if new arms have the grooves already cut into them or if they’re created as the arm is torqued down onto the spindle.
