After 3 years to the day, and 93,000 miles - I had my final farewell to my trusty B9. Certainly had plenty of memories / experiences with it over the years and has been a solid workhorse.

The great:
- MMI is fantastic, and I am yet to come across any other system which comes close in terms of how well this worked.
- Towing with the A4 pulled like a train (and without too!)
- Driver assistance is stunning against other manufacturers in it's class - the detail put into the intricacies of how it adjusts based on your drive select, traffic jam assist, predictive efficiency is just awesome. Will be interesting to see how they develop this further.
- Absolutely reliable, only ever had routine servicing other than the climate screen partially failing. Never let me down.

The not so great:
- Seats and driving position leaves a little to be desired
- Not the most elegant / simple of car to get in / out of
- Wish I could have kept it longer!
- Never did get used to the lag / response of the DSG gearbox. Sometimes it goes like a rocket, others I need an appointment.

I'm in a temporary vehicle (Toyota C-Hr - meh) until I take delivery of a Nissan Leaf e+ in mid-Feb - Going full EV! Will be a significant difference in cost from the Audi with 0% company car tax from April. Fuel costs will be a ton cheaper too.

Wish I could have got into something more premium but my companies change in policy forcing my hand somewhat, so I am just making the best of it for the time being. It's been fun owning an Audi whilst it lasted!!

Us Matador red A4's are getting thin on the ground these days, especially as Audi have now dropped the colour as well. Please keep in touch, let us know how the new car isl...

You will enjoy the Leaf at low speeds. I’ve got a generation one Leaf and it is best car we’ve had (from a range including 330d 335i Mini Cooper JCW and Focus 1.6L)

Thanks all, this is a pleasant place to be so will stop by occasionally or pop in if I can help someone with a question!

@WarwickBoy - I believe the newer models and e+ are now better at motorway speeds and struggle less with more powerful motors.
Did not have any concerns on motorways with it in test driving! Good fun to drive!

Delighted to see that you achieved 93,000 miles with the DSG transmission, presumably without trouble. I prevaricated over going manual or DSG as I had read all the horror stories about the DSG option, but I wanted to try an auto. In the end, I thought that the warranty will take away any worries for the first 3 years and after 23,000 miles the DSG has been fine. However, I’m now out of warranty (although I bought a one year extension) so I hope that as the car ages the DSG won’t fail. There have been instances on this forum of DSG problems, but your story gives me faith.

We have the original Leaf and have done over 40,000 miles. It’s our go to car for short journeys. Real world range is about 110 miles. . Never exceed 70mph as higher speeds seem to impact range. The new Leaf is a great step forward but we bought our original after 2 years having had a PCP deal of £250/month with £2,500 deposit, whereas the new one would have been closer to £400/month. New one is a great car, but we’ll probably run our original Leaf until it fails (battery still has a warranty until 2024).

Enjoy the new Leaf and as a second car you’ll never go back to non electric (in my view).

Enjoy the EV, I nearly opted for a Tesla 3 but the build quality was like a 1970's Fiat.
I guess you are buying £40k battery and an £8k car. Leaf is superior.

Is the DSG any different in the A4 to to the A6. My current A6 has 115k on the clock and the DSG is sweet as a nut. No hint of an issue.
