Audi A4 B8 Power Folding Mirrors

Hi,

I have installed power folding mirrors on my vehicle, the side mirrors are power folding, i have the 4 position switch and the door modules for power folding. I have also coded the vehicle to show power folding mirrors installed. However they don't work. I have selected them to fold when i lock the car via the MMI however this doesn't work either?!!

Any idea guys?

Really could do with the help, I've been waiting to install these for sometime and now that i have it doesn't work!

The mirrors come with 8 wires 2 separate wires which i believe are for the auto dimming (which my car doesn't have).
 
Check the door modules are compatible as they may code but miss the pins on the board.

Folding bases have pink & blue wires.
 
I purchased door modules that have the solid block for LL and RL on top right of module. Where will I find the wiring that you mention?

The wiring is from the mirror bases, if it's not got them, then they're not electric folding iirc.

Visually check the door module pin locations to be 100% sure.
 
To get to the mirror bases would I need to remove the casing of the side mirror? I have tried to do this previously but was unsuccessful.

As for module pins. I have compared to old modules I had and they have many more pins for the mirrors.

Just remove the door cards to see the mirror connector & wires or remove the mirror glass to look at wires inside.
 
Check the pin locations & wires as I can't recall if those modules are folding.
 
These are the modules images. I will have to look at the wiring tomorrow and will take a picture and upload.

So the modules I purchased aren't folding? I saw online a few people mentioned that the LL and RL need to be filled white and not half which shows they are power fold.

Yes this is what I saw but I believe mine are high spec due to the white filled block on top right.

Didn't get a chance to check wires today will look in the morning and confirm. I'll take some pics

These are the wiring for both side mirrors. I was sold these as power folding. I'm going to be running if that's not the case.

The door modules I have are power folding. However my side mirrors aren't power folding even they were sold as that. I have images of another pair with the image below is the wiring. Are these power folding? They do that the blue and pink wiring.

These are the mirrors. I don't think they are the facelift model but that are the S4/RS4 mirrors.

If you remove the mirrors you'll be able to see the mechanism (and oem refs) and thus know for sure...

I have a set of facelift mirrors I bought for my side assist retrofit. These are non folding and have the 6 plus 2 wires. The 2 wires on their own (brown, blue yellow) are for the side assist light. These are terminated inside the mirror housing if side assist light is not fitted. looking at the wiring schemes the pink, blue wires are for the folding motor.

Thanks for the info. So for the most recent images I posted of pre facelift side mirrors would you say they are power fold? I have requestion a picture of the mechanism behind the mirror but I've got nothing yet. But looking at the wiring it looks as they are power fold however I don't want to waste money due to false advertisement again!

Hi All,

While trying to do this. I ran into some issues.

I have a 2010 Audi A4 B8.

Replaced the modules to the one in this thread. Everything worked other than my memory option for the seat. Not sure how to by pass this maybe upgrading the memory seat module?

For everyone wondering about the wires, the blue and pink are for power folding. However the remainder of the wires is subject to options ie. heat, dimming, memory and side assist which is a separate two wire plug (blue/yellow, Brown wires).
 
Depends if the modules are memory units & also if the bases you used are memory also, if you have memory seats already then it should work with coding of course.

Ok the coding for the memory seats is already there and works with my original modules, however does not work with the new powerfold modules listed in this thread. Does anyone have a list of modules that with all the options?
 
What part numbers were fitted originally and what did you replace them with?
 
Did you try to code your original modules for power folding mirrors?
 
Quick update all.

I used my existing modules and ordered the power-fold bases with all options (heat, auto dim, mem) and everything is working after coding;

Door modules used(existing);
8K0959793H
8K0959792H

I am not sure why door modules in this thread;
8T0959793G
8T0959792G
were not compatible with my pre-facelift a4, memory seats button and function. It may be that 8T0 part only works on facelift models.
